Should you pull for Xianyun in Genshin Impact?
HoYoverseQuestioning whether Xianyun in Genshin Impact is worth spending your precious Primogems on? Here’s everything you need to know before wishing for Xianyun.
Version 4.4 in Genshin Impact is now live, and it is one of the busier patches, packed with events, new expansions, and, of course, two new characters—Gaming and Xianyun. Given how massive the patch is and the amount of Primogems you’ll get, there’s a high chance that you can get at least one limited-banner character if you saved a bit from previous versions.
Putting together a build for Xianyun and playing her isn’t all that complicated, either. And even though her kit buffs the rather underutilized attack of plunge, her enabling everyone to consistently perform it opens up a new playstyle for plenty of characters. But does this alone warrant spending Primogems?
Is Xianyun worth spending Primogems on?
Xianyun is worth wishing in Genshin Impact if you like plunging attacks, more so if you’re main-ing Xiao.
Undoubtedly, Xiao is best benefited by Xianyun, and he was already one of the best DPS units. Xianyun’s introduction makes Xiao arguably the most “complete” unit in Genshin Impact, in that he is top-tier in both AoE as well as single-target damage.
For Xiao mains, it is also a double whammy, as his other best support, Faruzan, is also currently rated up 4-star, so you can chase Faruzan’s C6.
Other than Xiao, Xianyun also opens up a new playstyle for Hu Tao, Wriothesley, and some other characters, while bringing the powercrept Diluc back into doing some respectable damage. Not just the new playstyle, but Xianyun also increases Hu Tao’s damage, but you’ll have to plunge.
Xianyun is also the best support for Gaming and is generally an upgrade for almost all Polearm, Sword, and Claymore users who use an Anemo unit plus Furina in their team.
One of the other, perhaps the most important, points to consider is that she is a team-wide healer and is currently the best healer to be paired with Furina. With Furina being considered widely as one of the best characters, if not the best, that alone increases Xianyun’s value.
But the other rate-up in 4.4 is Nahida, who has a much higher pull value and is universal in almost all Dendro teams, and that may make you reconsider wishing. Of course, if you do not have any Dendro-centered teams unit, there is no point in Nahida.
There is also this lingering “what if” question about whether there might be more plunging attack units in the future. All in all, Xianyun is a good character to wish in Genshin Impact, you could definitely do worse.
