Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes introduces an exciting new storyline that will prepare you for the upcoming Vessel of Hatred DLC. Like every other season, you’ll need to create a new character from scratch, giving you the option to either skip the main campaign or experience Diablo 4’s story from the beginning.

If you’re new to Diablo 4 and don’t know which path to take, we’ve got you covered. Here’s what you need to know before deciding on whether to skip the main campaign in Diablo 4 Season 5.

Should you skip Diablo 4 campaign or not?

While it ultimately depends on your preference, skipping the main campaign in Diablo 4’s Season of the Infernal Hordes lets you dive straight into this season’s journey. However, keep in mind that the storyline contains a ton of spoilers, as it builds on the final events of the base campaign.

If you choose to skip the main campaign, you’ll immediately gain access to endgame content, such as the Tree of Whispers and World Bosses.

On the other hand, if you’re new to the game or haven’t played the class you’ve selected for your seasonal character, playing through the main campaign gives you a smoother introduction to Diablo 4’s mechanics. This approach helps you better understand how to build your character, making the transition to endgame content much easier.

How to skip campaign in Diablo 4

  1. In the main menu, choose the “Create new character” option.
  2. Select the class you wish to play in this season.
  3. Select and customize your character’s Body Type.
  4. Look for Gameplay Options and select “Skip Campaign.”
  5. Press “Start Game.”
  6. Pick the Seasonal Realm to go through the current season’s journey.
  7. Select your Difficulty.

To play Season 5, you’ll need to create a seasonal character from scratch. During this process, you can choose the Hardcore option for permadeath, and check the Skip Campaign option to jump straight into the open world.

Next, you’ll decide between the Eternal Realm and the Seasonal Realm. If you’re only interested in the main campaign, choose the Eternal Realm. However, if you want to experience all the new content this season has to offer, select the Seasonal Realm.

After that, you can choose your World Tier (Difficulty Setting). You can adjust this setting later from the Character Select Screen or the World Tier Statue in Kyovashad. Keep in mind that if you’re playing with friends, everyone in your group must be on the same World Tier.

Diablo 4 Season 5 has introduced a complete rework of Unique Items and Legendary Aspects. You’ll also get a new set of quests to discover this season’s mechanics, and two rogue-like endgame modes to put your build to the test.
