Silent Hill 2 remake release date

The Silent Hill 2 remake will officially release on October 8, 2024.

This was confirmed at Playstation’s State of Play event, which confirmed the highly anticipated horror game will be released in the month of Halloween, which seems appropriate.

All Silent Hill 2 remake platforms

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be available to play on Playstation 5 and PC. 

The game will be exclusive to PS5 for at least a year, and the devs have not confirmed if they are planning to bring it to other consoles at this stage.

Silent Hill 2 remake gameplay changes & story

The Silent Hill 2 remake follows the same story as the original, but there are some big graphics updates and some gameplay changes to take note of.

The graphics have been improved greatly, but the gameplay trailer also revealed that the game will have an over-the-shoulder perspective similar to the Resident Evil 4 remake. 

According to Sony, enemy movements have also been altered to be more unpredictable in combat. The environments have largely been altered, which aims to give the game a more realistic feel than the original. 

Bloober Team have also briefly mentioned that they are making more use of audio capabilities, and players can expect few to no loading screens this time round. Overall, the gameplay changes are mostly quality-of-life so players can have a better experience with a game they’re familiar with.
