Skull and Bones post-launch content explained: Year 1, Seasons, more
UbisoftUbisoft have shared the full Year 1 roadmap for Skull and Bones, so here are all the details on what’s coming to the pirate adventure in the months after its release.
Much like most of Ubisoft’s live titles, such as The Division and R6, Skull and Bones will also receive steady content past its initial release. The post-launch support is mostly events and pirates to hunt down, as Skull and Bones doesn’t have a traditional single-player campaign.
It is still very extensive, and outside of pirate targets, there will be legendary sea monsters to hunt. Skull and Bones will continue to add QoLs and other changes based on feedback from the community as well.
So, all that said, here’s everything you need to know about post-launch plans for Skull and Bones.
All Skull and Bones Year 1 content
Skull and Bones Year 1 will follow a seasonal format, with each said to last 12 weeks. The meatiest part of all the seasons appears to be hunting down pirate lords, here are all the Seasons and their respective targets:
- Season 1: Raging Tides – Philippe La Peste
- Season 2: Chorus of Havoc – The Hubac Twins
- Season 3: Into the Dragon’s Wake – Li Tian Ning
- Season 4: Shadows of the Deep – Mystery (not yet revealed)
You’ll face them at the end of each season, in a final standoff. Two legendary sea monsters have been confirmed for the initial two seasons, the Kingpin Thylosaurus and The Megalodon.
Outside of new targets to hunt, there will also be many limited-time events, like Halloween events or the Dragon Boat Race. Rewards will include ships, weapons, cosmetics items, and much more.
Skull and Bones is also said to feature a Battle Pass, but we don’t know specific details on it just yet. That being said, it’s likely to be tied to seasons, with a new one coming in each major update.
Is Skull and Bones post-launch content free?
Yes, all of the Skull and Bones post-launch updates will be free, as confirmed in Ubisoft’s official blog post.
This implies that there will be cosmetic items that’ll be locked behind a paywall, but no meaningful content that involves gameplay will require any additional purchases.
That’s everything we know about post-launch content for Skull and Bones. We’ll update this article if more details are revealed. Until then, for more on Skull and Bones as well as other big Ubisoft titles, check out:
