Squad Busters gameplay: Worlds & mods explained
At its core, Squad Busters requires you to make a team out of characters from previously released Supercell titles and collect Gems throughout the game to secure a win. It’s not that simple though, as the characters you make a team with belong to different types:
- Attacker
- Supplier
- Speedster
- Defender
- Healer
- All-rounder
On top of this, every match will begin with some random ‘mods’ that have a huge impact on the challenges you’ll face. As of now, there are four worlds in the game.
You’ll get new mods by reaching worlds and here’s a list of all the mods you can come across based on the worlds you’ve unlocked:
Green World
- Fusion Start – You begin a match with a Fused character.
- Gem Overload – Everything drops Gems.
- Spell Overload – Spells spill out everywhere.
- Tree Giants – You’ll find gem-filled trees on the map.
- Pinata Party – You’ll find Loot-packed Pinatas everywhere on the map.

- Double Trouble – Chest characters are doubled.
Desert World
- Royal Haunt – Royal Ghosts haunt the map.
- Whack-A-Mole – Mole Robots roam around the map.
- Angry Vines – Vines grow quickly around the map.
- Dopplegangers – Look-alikes are spawned from chests.
- Epic Overload – You get Epic Character choices from every chest.
Royal World
- Gift Critters – Gift-wrapped robots crawl everywhere on the map.
- MEGA Start – Begin the match with a free MEGA unit.
- Chest Imposters – Fake chests hide their loot.
- Golden Boots – Turbo Boosts gained the supercharged effect.
- Super Gem Mine – You’ll find an oversized Gem Mine.
Beach World
- Ring Grab – You can get Gem Rings during the match.
- Baby Battle – You’ll find Baby form characters on the match.
- Monster Pets – Friendly monsters can be summoned from Chests.
- Loot Surge – The map overflows with Loot.
In certain games, you’ll also find Bonus Battle mods which means that instead of one mod, many mods will now activate resulting in even more action-packed gameplay.

Witch | Attacker | Boasts one of the highest base damage in Squad Busters and the overall damage output increases with the Skeleton Barrel spell. |
Barbarian King | Defender | Easily one of the best tanks in the game with 3000 Health. He can also stun and knock enemies while increasing the melee attack speed of all other squad members. With the Super form, he can also heal himself when not attacking. |
Archer Queen | Attacker | Very similar to the Barbarian King but she boosts the damage of ranged units instead. She also throws explosive arrows that knock back and stun enemies. |
Shelly | All-Rounder | Shelly can fire bullets through many enemies and also heal herself. Her damage increases significantly with the Super upgrade. |
Bo | Attacker | Bo deals 100% more damage to monsters. This jumps to 125% with the first upgrade and in his Super form, Bo also drops a mine that is triggered by monsters. |
Nita | Defender | Nita spawns with a bear that starts to respawn after the first upgrade. The bear gets enraged in Super form and attacks a lot quicker. |
Bea | Attacker | Bea specializes in picking bees from different hives on the map and her bees get stronger and durable with the upgrades. |

Mavis | Supplier | She collects Coins from carrot patches. In the Classic form, she gets bonus Coins after clearing a patch and in the Super form, she heals all units after picking a carrot. |
Trader | Supplier | He grants you one Coin for every 15 Gems you collect. In the Classic form, his Gems heal your squad and in his Super form, you get two Coins for every 15 Gems collected. |
Wizard | Attacker | Mainly deals splash damage to opponents. You can get random spells by adding him to your team and hold two spells together in his Classic form. Monsters have a higher chance of dropping spells when defeated. |
Pam | Healer | Pam lets you open a healing station when you open chests and it lasts for eight seconds. In Classic form, the healing station grants additional heals when destroyed and the True form adds another healing station spell to your inventory. |
Royale King | Defender | Royale King is as tanky as it gets and for attacking, it relies on the Royale Recruits and an Elite Recruit can be added through a spell with his Super form. |
Mortis | All-Rounder | Mortis is arguably the best melee attacker you can have on your team who can also respawn dead monsters to fight for you. The respawned allies turn into bats when defeated and attack nearest opponents. |
Heavy | Defender | Heavy has amazing damage and a ton of health. His attack speed increases when not moving and at Classic, he heals when attacking with the speed boost. |
Penny | Supplier | Penny has high damage and helps you find buried Treasures on the map. The quality of loot you get from these treasures increases in her Super and Classic forms. |
Tank | Defender | Tank occupies tanks from the map that increase her health and damage. She also has access to Overdrive that increases her attack speed and in Super form, you get the status effect from beginning. |
