The full recommended PC requirements for Star Wars Outlaws have been released, and with the game garnering quite a bit of excitement from fans, many are wondering what kind of rig you’ll need to run it.

Overall, the game’s required specs won’t reflect a super high-end setup, but Ubisoft do expect you to be running upscaling technology to get the most out of its space exploration.

  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Storage: 65 GB SSD
  • Resolution: 1440P, 60 FPS, High graphics preset with upscaler set to Quality

Ultra

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D or Intel Core i7-12700K
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 4080 (16 GB), AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (24 GB)

Will Star Wars Outlaws support DLSS and FSR?

Yes, Star Wars Outlaws will support DLSS and FSR. Ubisoft released the PC requirements under the assumption that players will be using the upscaling technology.

All of the tiers in the system requirements present players with a Quality upscaler that you’ll need to use to achieve the FPS mentioned in Resolution.

How do they compare?

The last major Star Wars title was Star Wars Jedi Survivor by Respawn Entertainment, and its PC requires are fairly similar to Star Wars Outlaws.

For example, the recommended CPU/GPU combo for Jedi Survivor is Intel Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and Nvidia RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT – which is almost the exact same combination as the recommended specs for Outlaws.

The biggest caveat comparatively is the assumption that players are going to be using DLSS or FSR. The main issue with releasing specs with this in mind is that you won’t get the resolution you’re looking for unless you use it, and you may need a slightly more powerful PC than you thought.

This is particularly evident in the High and Ultra specs. If you’re upscaling to 1440p, you’re starting at about 1080p. The GPUs in these specs have 10 GB VRAM, which implies that 8 GB may not be enough to run a 1080p native resolution.

We’ll have to see how it performs when it releases on August 30, so make sure in the meantime that you know where it sits in the Universe timeline before you dive in. It’ll be open world, so there’s a lot to explore and the game will have a lengthy time to beat as a result.
