Stardew Valley has many fish to find including Sunfish, with locations attached to them. Some are more difficult to locate than others, and some make for great gifts. Here is how you can find Sunfish in Stardew Valley, how to gift them, and what they can be used for. 

Fish in Stardew Valley have a number of uses, just like Sunfish for example. You can keep them in ponds, use them to complete the Community Centre, and of course, use them for food.

Sunfish locations in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Sunfish can be found in the river that flows through Pelican Town and Cindersap Forest. 

Sunfish are one of the more abundant fish to find in Stardew. They are freshwater fish, so if you’re looking to catch them, you need to make sure you’re fishing in the river that flows through Pelican Town and Cindersap Forest. 

You can also find Sunfish if you choose the Riverlands Farm, Forest Farm, or Hill-Top Farm. The water that you have pre-generated in these farms will yield plenty of Sunfish when you go looking for them. 

Sunfish seasons in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Sunfish can be found during Spring or Summer when the weather is Sunny. 

True to its name, you can find Sunfish in Spring or Summer. Make sure that the weather is Sunny because they won’t appear if it’s raining. Rain is more of an issue in Summer than it is in Spring, so your best chance is to do lots of fishing in the Spring. 

Sunfish uses in Stardew Valley

Sunfish can be used for gifts in Stardew Valley, in multiple recipes, and you can also put them in ponds on your farm for different rewards. 

Nobody likes or loves Sunfish as a gift, but these characters have a Neutral reaction to it: 

• Demetrius
• Elliot 
• Leo 
• Linus 
• Pam 
• Sebastian 
• Willy 

The rest of Pelican Town either dislikes or hates it as a gift, so we suggest staying away from gifting Sunfish unless someone asks for it in a billboard quest. 

Sunfish can also be used for a number of recipes, namely: 

• Baked fish (Sunfish, Bream, Wheat Flour)
• Maki Roll (Any Fish, Seaweed, Rice)
• Sashimi (Any Fish)
• Quality Fertilizer (Sap, Any Fish)

If you place Sunfish in a Fish Pond on your farm, it will give you Roe (like every fish would), and the special item that it spawns once you complete its Fish Pond quest is Solar Essence.
