Tekken 8 devs accidentally leak DLC character

Tekken 8’s roster is expected to expand after launch, and Bandai Namco seem to have accidentally revealed who the first DLC character will be.

Tekken 8 is on the horizon, and while players have now been given a clear idea of what the launch roster will look like, including new faces such as Victor and Azucena, many in the community are continuing to speculate what future characters will be added to the game.

While the community usually anticipates leaks prior to official confirmation, it seems Bandai Namco may have slipped up and accidentally revealed the first character set to arrive in Tekken 8 for DLC 1.

On Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 YouTube playlist, some eagle-eyed fans managed to get a screenshot of a video in the process of being uploaded before it was eventually hidden, revealing the potential return of a familiar character.

Tekken 8 Josie leak

The now-hidden Tekken 8 YouTube video was titled “TEKKEN 8 – DLC 1 Josie Rizal Reveal & Gameplay Trailer.” If this leak is accurate, it means that players will see the return of Josie in Tekken 8 after her introduction to the franchise in Tekken 7.

To make the leak even more believable, according to Resetera user ‘Musubi,’ “you do get the YouTube notification that one video in the playlist isn’t public so…it seems real.”

According to the screenshot on Resetera, the trailer is set to be 2:19, and will likely be very similar to the previous character trailers, showing off Josie’s moveset and character design for Tekken 8.

It’s unclear when this first DLC will be released for Tekken 8, but with the game’s launch set for January 26, we likely won’t see the first DLC for some time after.
