The First Descendant cross-progression – Crossplay with friends explained

The First Descendant is a new looter shooter that thrives when played with friends, which makes the crossplay and cross-progression features essential. With so many characters to unlock, resources to find, and endgame activities to complete, the ability to continue the grind on a different platform is invaluable.

Meanwhile, inviting friends on PC to join you on Xbox or PlayStation can ease some of the tougher fights. So, here’s everything you need to know about crossplay and cross-progression in The First Descendant.

How to use crossplay

Crossplay is automatically enabled in The First Descendant, meaning your lobbies are full of players on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox right from the start. However, if you want to invite friends on different platforms easily, you’ll need to create a Nexon account by heading to the dev’s official website.

You have the option to use an existing Google or Facebook account, but we recommend creating a fresh profile so you can log in with an email address and password to make life easier down the line.

Once this is done, the next step is to head to the “Linked Accounts” page of your Account Settings. From here, you can easily link whichever profile you have used to play The First Descendant so far by logging into your account on that platform.

Nexon Games

Finally, once your accounts are linked, head into the Social tab in-game and use the search box to find and invite your friends using their Nexon username. Regardless of which platform they are on, this will send them a notification and allow them to join your lobby.

Cross-progression setup

To use cross-progression The First Descendant, you’ll need to create a Nexon account just like we mentioned above and link multiple platforms. We’ve recapped the steps below:

1. Head to the Nexon website and create an account.
2. From there, go to the “Linked Accounts” section.
3. Follow the prompts to link the accounts of all of the different platforms you intend to play on.
4. Once this is done you have successfully enabled cross-progression.

Doing this means that anytime you log into The First Descendant using any of the accounts you have linked, all of your progress will be there waiting for you. So, there’s no need to unlock each character and complete each quest on all your devices, it will all carry over.

This includes your characters, so your powerful builds for Bunny, Valby, and Lepic will be ready and waiting for you.
