Viral Palworld & Pokemon comparison thread creator admits to fabricating results
PocketpairPalworld is in the midst of another controversy regarding its Pal similarities to the Pokemon 3D models. This time, the original X user who posted the viral comparisons is admitting that they scaled models to make them look alike.
Palworld is blasting the Steam charts on concurrent players and it has already sold over 8 million copies since launch, spanning across both PC versions and Xbox.
Pocketpair’s Early Access version of Palworld is taking the world by surprise, but there are still angry Pokemon fans out there who are calling on the devs for “stealing” designs from Game Freak. One of these users who made a viral post about this controversy has seemingly taken a step back.
X user ‘byofrog’ has admitted that all coverage on the alleged stolen assets was fabricated by themselves, in an attempt to highlight “how much Palworld glorifies animal abuse.”
Another X user, ‘ttvPalmer’ made a post about byofrog’s regrets on Palworld’s “plagiarism,” and showed the community that this “1:1” model comparison was fabricated.

It has been proven that #Palworld was NOT made with AI and was NOT made with stolen assets.
IN FACT
The "Look how the models are a 1:1" twitter user later admitted to scaling them to fit.
Y'all couldn't find legitimate reason for anger and FABRICATED IT. pic.twitter.com/gErGibWG3F
The OP also called out the Pokemon community that slammed Palworld over these stealing accusations, by saying: “Y’all couldn’t find legitimate reason for anger and FABRICATED IT.”
User ‘ttvPalmer’ also shared in their thread a technical comparison and explanation about how the topology of the polygons in Palworld’s models are different than Pokemon’s.
Over the controversy of “plagiarism,” the tech-savvy user said: “But the topology of triangles is different. I don’t think they just edited existing models: they still seemingly made their own, just to have v. close proportions.”
Those who believed past accusations are now seemingly regretting their decision: “I had bought that narrative and I believe I spread the accusation with one tweet. Should have been more careful about sources I trust.”
There are tons of things to do in Palworld, regardless of which side of this controversy you are taking, so be sure to check out how to change a Pal’s name, or what are Lucky Pals in Palworld.
