Amidst the advent of AAA games, Wordle has proved that simplicity and innovation can still attract the masses. If you’re yet to hop on the bandwagon, check out this guide that covers how to play Wordle and how you can share the results after guessing the answer correctly.

The attention span of netizens has reduced significantly lately and as a result, we’ve seen an unprecedented rise in the prominence of short video format, apps that tell summarised news, and of course, games that let you progress without grinding.

Idle RPGs like AFK Arena, Mythic Heroes, and Mobile Legends: Adventures have now become fan favorites because you can easily include them in your busy schedule and have the satisfaction of moving further in the game.

Similarly, Wordle is a puzzle game that has been the talk of the town in 2022. New word puzzles arrive every day and it barely takes some minutes to make guesses and move on with your day.

Here’s everything you need to know about Wordle.

What is Wordle? Rules & strongest openings explained

Wordle is a web-based word game in which you need to guess a five-letter word within six tries. A new word puzzle is released every day and millions of players attempt to guess it daily.

What makes Wordle unique is that you don’t get any hints regarding the meaning or the significance of the word. Instead, these are the rules:

  • Each guess must be a proper five-letter word. As soon as you press enter, the color of each letter’s tile will change which indicates how close you are to guessing the right word.
    • Letters with a green tile are correct and also placed accurately.
    • Letters with an orange/yellow tile are correct but are placed somewhere else in the actual word.
    • Letters with a black tile are not a part of the word you’re supposed to guess.

A strong opening guess is a key to winning in Wordle. Some of the strongest opening guesses are Stare, Salet, Lance, Trace, and Roast, among others. These words not only have a good amount of vowels but also include the most-used letters like S, T, and R.

How to play Wordle

You can play Wordle through the official New York Times website. Do note that the game isn’t available on a mobile app and if you find something similar on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, it’s fake.

Unsurprisingly, there are several games that replicate Wordle’s format and you can get their apps as well. However, it is safe to say that none of these games are as popular as the original Wordle.

How to share Wordle results on Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp & other platforms

Follow these steps to share your Wordle score with the world on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook:

  1. Visit the official NY Times Wordle website and attempt the daily puzzle.
  2. Once you’ve made all the guesses or guessed the correct word, a pop-up will appear showing your account’s stats.
  3. Click on the green Share button below. The link to your result will now be copied to the device’s clipboard.
  4. Without copying anything else, go to the desired platform (Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp) and paste the link into messages, statuses, posts, or anywhere you want to share it.

This process is slightly lengthy as you can’t share your Wordle result directly from the website. Instead, the website just copies the link and thereafter, it’s up to you to paste it into the correct social media post/message/status.
