Insomniac GamesSpider-Man 2 is finally here with all-new features such as web wings, Fast Travel, powerful villains, and more. But if you are curious about when the game takes place, here’s what you need to know about Spider-Man 2’s timeline.
Announced back in 2021, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is here to continue the story of Peter and Miles saving New York City from a fresh array of menacing villains but this time, with new web-swings, suits, Fast Travel, and more.
While the campaign length is roughly the same as the first game, Insomniac have improved the map substantially and players worldwide have already dived headfirst into the action. But many of them are wondering where the game fits into the overall timeline, especially when compared to its predecessors.
So if you are one of those players, here’s a quick rundown of the Spider-Man 2 timeline.
When does Spider-Man 2 take place?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set ten months after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This was revealed by Bryan Intihar in an interview with Press Start back in June. To put this in perspective, the first Spider-Man game was set in 2018-2019, and with Miles’ story unfolding in late 2020, Spider-Man 2 should take place around mid to late 2021.
“It’s about 10 months after the events of Miles Morales, so Miles has kind of gone through his journey to understand what kind of Spider-Man he wants to be and him and Peter are a great team. And that’s kind of where we kick things off at the beginning of this game” said Brian.
