Where to find Traders in 7 Days to Die & open times explained

Trader Joel in 7 Days to Die

Traders are important for many resources in 7 Days to Die, including the quests they have available to help you gain XP and rare items. Each has a different location and open times for when you can visit.

While the game does take you to the nearest Trader as part of the tutorial, there are more to find across the map. So, here are all the Trader locations in 7 Days to Die and their open times.

Navezgane Trader locations in 7 Days to Die

Navezgane will always have Traders in the same locations in 7 Days to Die, so it’s fairly easy to track them down if you know where they all are. There are currently five Traders in the game, and here are all their locations:

Trader Rekt

  • Coordinates: 566 W;469 N
  • Biome: Pine Forest
  • Specialization: Food and seeds

The Pine Forest is a fairly safe Biome.

Trader Rekt has been the first Trader I’ve been directed to the last three times I’ve started a new server, and it’s likely because he’s in a safer area than the rest of the Traders. Pine Forest is fairly easy to get through, and you don’t have to worry about many animals attacking you either.

Trader Jen

  • Coordinates: 280 E;238 S
  • Biome: Burnt Forest Biome
  • Specialization: Medical Supplies
Trader Jen in 7 Days to Die
Trader Jen can help with medical supplies.

The Burnt Forest Biome is likely the second one you’ll encounter in a new game, so Trader Jen is the person to find when you explore this area. She’s on a little bit of raised land that has some Pine Forest, too, so it’s even a good place to consider for your base.

Trader Bob

  • Coordinates: 476 E;1033 S
  • Biome: Desert
  • Specialization: Tools and vehicles

Bob’s in the desert and can help with tool crafting.

The Desert can be tricky to get through, so make sure you bring a lot of water and heat-resistant clothing when you venture here. Trader Bob is a nice respite from the outside, so make sure you have him marked on your map before you explore further.

Trader Hugh

  • Coordinates: 957 W;1717 N
  • Biome: Snow
  • Specialization: Weapons and ammo
Trader Hugh in 7 Days to Die
Trader Hugh has a great stock of high tier weapons and ammo.

The Snow Biome isn’t really challenging in terms of zombies, but this is where you’ll start running into bears and other scary animals. Make sure you have cold-resistant clothing and good weapons and items before you track down Trader Hugh.

Trader Joel

  • Coordinates: 987 W;1148 S
  • Biome: Wasteland
  • Specialization: Armor
Trader Joel in 7 Days to Die
Trader Joel used to be in Pine Forest, but now he’s the last Trader you’ll likely find.

The Wasteland is considered end-game territory because of the high spawn rate of zombies, special infected, and zombie animals. We recommend having a vehicle of some kind before you enter this area, and make sure you’re prepared with the best weapons and armor you’ve got.

How to find Traders on randomly generated worlds

If you’re playing on a randomly generated world, your Traders will likely have different location coordinates from the ones above. Since it’s different for everyone, you’ll need to enable the debug menu and use a cheat code to find their location.

Here’s how to enable the menu and find your trader locations:

  1. Hit F1 to open the command console.
  2. Type dm, then hit enter.
  3. While still in the menu, type ‘traderarea’ and hit enter.
  4. You should have the coordinates of all the traders on your map.

Open the debug menu to find Traders on randomly generated worlds.

The second way you can find Traders in these kinds of worlds is to activate the debug menu and then use the POI Teleporter to directly teleport to the one you want to find. The Teleporter is in alphabetical order, so look under ‘Traders’ to find the one you need.

Unfortunately for console players, this method is only available on PC. So, if you’re playing on console, just make sure you know where each Trader tends to spawn so you can look for them in those Biomes.

Trader open times in 7 Days to Die

All Traders are open from 6:05 AM to 9:50 PM in-game time in 7 Days to Die.

If you’re inside a Trader’s territory while they close, you’ll be kicked out for the night. So, while they serve as a nice safe space during the day, make sure you have your own place to rest while they are closed.

7 Days to Die Traders explained

Traders are NPCs in 7 Days to Die that offer a variety of goods in exchange for Duke’s Casino Tokens, and they also hand out quests you can complete for various rewards.

You can sell items to get Dukes from a Trader, but it’s important to note that they won’t accept everything you have. Here are all the kinds of quests you can get from them:

  • Fetch Jobs: Your task with Fetch jobs will be to find a Courier Satchel in a specified building.
  • Clear Jobs: These jobs will task you with clearing all zombies from a specified area.
  • Fetch and Clear Jobs: Go to a specific area, clear out the zombies, and grab White River Supplies.
  • Buried Supplies Jobs: Go to a specified location and dig a hole until you find the buried supplies.
  • Open Trade Route Jobs: Travel to and interact with another Trader.
  • Restore Power Jobs: Only available at night, you must restart a generator in a specified area. Defeat all the zombies that get alerted.

If you die while you’re trying to complete the quest, you will have failed it and won’t get your rewards. Rewards differ, but generally you’ll get a boost in XP and Duke’s Casino Tokens.

Best perks to enhance Traders

  • Attribute: Intellect
    • Better Barter: Get a decrease in price from Traders and get more money when you sell things to them.
    • The Daring Adventurer: Get better rewards for completing quests.
  • Attribute: Perception
    • Treasure Hunter: Find 10% more items in buried treasure and dig up less blocks before radius decreases.

While there aren’t a ton of perks to upgrade to then enhance Traders, these two will help tremendously when it comes to getting better rewards for quests and making more money. Traders often hold really important items, so they are essential from early to endgame.

Near a Trader is also a great place to build your base, because you’ll be close to a set stream of important resources, mods, and more to help you survive – especially in the early days. Base location is also essential when you encounter Blood Moons, so it’s better to be prepared for the Horde when they arrive.
