Is Skull and Bones on Steam?

As with most multiplatform releases, you’re likely wondering if Ubisoft’s upcoming pirate adventure, Skull and Bones, is available on Steam. We’ll break down everything you need to know about S&B’s potential Steam release.

After being delayed more than six times, Skull and Bones finally sets sail on February 16. It takes place in the 17th-century Indian Ocean, an era famed for its notoriously high maritime warfare, and is a spiritual successor to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Unlike Assassin’s Creed, however, the rags to riches tale in Skull and Bones is focused only around ships, with no on-foot combat. Regardless, it is one of the bigger releases of 2024, and despite the genre being fairly popular, we haven’t had a high profile developer create a pirate game in years. 

Many won’t want to miss out on it, and if Steam is your preferred storefront, here’s whether Skull and Bones is available on Steam.

Is there Skull and Bones Steam release? 

Skull and Bones is not available on Steam. It is exclusive to Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. 

Most recent Ubisoft games, like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, are not available on Steam, so it isn’t a big surprise that Skull and Bones isn’t available on Steam either. 

While the game isn’t available on Steam at launch, there is a high chance that it’ll eventually come to the storefront. Ubisoft titles almost always find their way onto Steam a few years after their initial release. 

Many Ubisoft hits that weren’t available on Steam at launch, like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Far Cry 6, are now on Steam. So even if Skull and Bones will miss out on a Steam release on launch, it is likely to be released on Valve’s storefront sometime later.
