Following player feedback related to Wuthering Waves’ poor performance at launch, Kuro Games have issued compensations by way of free Convene, items, and selectors for Wuthering Waves.

Another freebie was issued on May 26, 2024, and you’ll find a “Voucher of Reciprocal Tides” in your in-game mail. The voucher can be used to get a free 5-star character.

Wuthering Waves Giveback Custom Convene best character to pick

Verina is the best character to pick in the Wuthering Waves Giveback Custom Convene event. This is, of course, assuming you don’t already have her.

Not only among the batch of standard units but in the entire game, Verina can be argued as the best character. She is both a healer and a buffer, and a healer is someone you’d always want on your team, especially when you’ve just started playing. That, combined with her damage-buffing capabilities, makes her a highly sought-after unit. 

If you already have Verina, we recommend going for Calcharo, as he is a solid DPS. It will allow you to skip Jiyan if you want to save your pulls and don’t want to blow them all in the first few versions. Even if you have Jiyan, you can still pull for Calcharo. You’ll then have two good DPS who can help you in the endgame mode. 

How to use Voucher of Reciprocal Tides in Wuthering Waves

Here are the details on how to use the Voucher of Reciprocal Tides in Wuthering Waves:

1. Claim the item from your in-game mail (you’ll find the mail in the bottom bar of the Terminal menu).
2. Once claimed, go to the banner menu (Convene), and you’ll see a new banner appear right at the bottom.
3. Just as you head to the newly added banner, it’ll display all the characters you can pick.
4. Select the character you want and click on Confirm.

Now, all you have to do is Convene as usual in the banner. You can only do it once with the special voucher, and you’ll be guaranteed the character. 

Remember you’ll need to be Union Level 8 or have unlocked the Convene (banner system) after completing the trial in “First Resonance,” to be able to receive a Voucher of Reciprocal Tides and take part in the event.

Best character to pick in Wuthering Waves Beginner’s Choice Convene

In the Beginner’s Choice Convene of Wuthering Waves, Verina is the best choice. 

We’ve already said Verina is the best 5-star, so you should go with her. However, if you’ve already picked Verina from the Giveback Custom Convene event, you’re better off selecting Calcharo. Here’s the priority list for all the characters: 

1. Verina
2. Calcharo
3. Encore
4. Jianxin
5. Lingyang

For the early game, both Verina and Calcharo will be a priority. If you have them both, you can select any other character that you like.
