GameStop has announced (via Bloomberg) that they have sold over 1 million copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II on the first day.

“Black Ops II is shaping up to be our biggest game launch of all time,” Tony Bartel, president of the Grapevine, Texas-based chain, said yesterday. “GameStop sold more than 1 million units worldwide during our midnight launch period.”

Activision said yesterday that Black Ops 2 has “shattered pre-order records set last year by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3”. Analyst Michael Olson estimates that Black Ops II sold between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units in day-one sales.

Black Ops 2 is available now worldwide on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and coming to the Wii U Nov 18th.
