GOW Ragnarok: Date, trailers, story, weapons & platforms

PlayStation exclusive God of War: Ragnarok is on the way, and here’s everything we know about its release date, story, and gameplay.

gow ragnarok logo

A lot is known about, potentially, 2022’s biggest game, so here’s everything we know about God of War: Ragnarok including its release date, story, gameplay, and which platforms it will appear on.

The God of War franchise was already one of the biggest and best franchises in video game history. The brutal tales of Kratos had already been told across two generations and many gods had suffered.

Then Santa Monica released the critically-acclaimed God of War reboot in 2018, and Kratos’ cultural switch to the land of the Norse surpassed over 10 million in sales – with the figure being closer to 15 million.

Now, the feared warrior and his son Atreus return in God of War: Ragnarok and their actions from the first game are going to make for a cataclysmic showdown. We’ll bring you all the info we have so far including when we can expect to see God of War: Ragnarok, crucial story details, and which platform you will be able to play it on.

God of War: Ragnarok release date

When the debut trailer for God of War: Ragnarok landed, it finished with a simple message – “2021.”

However, the ongoing circumstances of the world seem to have affected the video games industry as multiple titles over the last 18 months have been severely delayed. GOW: Ragnarok is another victim of this, and the game is expected to drop sometime in 2022.

God of War: Ragnarok trailers

So far, Ragnarok has had two separate trailers. The first one was a 58-second teaser trailer at the 2020 PlayStation Showcase that effectively revealed the game’s name and initial release date.

You can check that one out here.

One year later at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase in 2021, the game got a full reveal trailer giving fans a deep look into how the game is looking, new elements that have been added, and hints as to where the story is going.

Here is the 2021 Reveal Trailer.

God of War: Ragnarok platforms

Even though the PlayStation 5 has been out for nearly a full year now, supply shortages have limited how many owners there are in the world.

Not only that, but many people are still content with their PS4, meaning that a versatile release would be more beneficial. The good news is that God of War: Ragnarok will be on PS4 and PS5.

Understandably, there will be a great deal of fidelity differences between the two versions with load times, graphical quality, and other elements being a key difference between the two builds.

God of War: Ragnarok story

2018’s God of War finished on a cliffhanger, and fans are salivating at the prospect of some of Norse’s legendary figures playing a part in the sequel.

The 2021 Reveal Trailer has confirmed that Ragnarok will take an even deeper look into the struggling bond between Kratos and Atreus. 2018’s hero-now-turned-antagonist Freya is thirsty for revenge against the duo, and now an even mightier force enters – Thor. We don’t know where his allegiance will lie, will he help his sister? Only time will tell.

All while this is going on, Kratos has his own internal struggle as he desperately wants to prevent more bloodshed as the grizzly memories of his past still haunt him. If that wasn’t enough, Tyr, the Norse God of War, also looks set to team up with the Greek God of War!

Ragnarok quite translates as “Doom of the Gods,” or “Fate of the Gods” depending on which source is more faithful. It means the end of the gods and the end of the world, so in any event, total war is coming to God of War: Ragnarok.

God of War: Ragnarok gameplay, weapons & more

The God of War series has always been revered for its deep combat that allows the player to pull off an insane number of deadly combos.

Kratos will once again have the use of his deadly blades and the reveal trailer also saw the return of the Leviathan Axe. We expect to see more incredible abilities that Kratos and Atreus can use to turn the tide of battle too.

The PlayStation Showcase showed Atreus summoning a mystical mount that he rode and used to take down foes – a sign of his growing powers.

This will all be necessary as the scope and depth of God of War looks to expand with newer, bigger, tougher foes looking to eradicate father and son.

In the space of two trailers, we have learned quite a bit about what God of War: Ragnarok aims to bring to the table. Santa Monica looks to go bigger and bolder than before, and it hopefully won’t be too long until we learn more.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends devs respond to criticism by adding cheaper Apex Coins option

Respawn Entertainment have responded to player feedback by introducing a cheaper Apex Coins option in the game.

In response to complaints from Apex Legends players about the high cost of Apex Coins, Respawn Entertainment have added a cheaper currency pack option to the game.

Apex Coins are the premium currency in Apex Legends that can you purchase with real money and then spend in order to get your hands on new cosmetic items for your Legends and weapons.

You may have to purchase bigger currency packs in order to get yourself certain items, and the Apex Legends community has been frustrated with the high cost of these. Now, the devs have responded to this issue.

Apex Legends players that don’t have enough currency to unlock a specific item end up having to spend a lot on bigger currency packs. The cheapest bundle that you could get contained 1,000 Apex Coins and would set you back $9.99.

This can be particularly frustrating if you only need to use a small portion of the Apex Coins in the pack. Now, Respawn and EA have addressed this problem by adding the option to purchase currency packs with a 500 coin bundle for $4.99.

Now, you’ll be able to get yourself a decent number of Apex Coins without having to spend an extremely large amount of cash. Players that only need 400 Apex Coins to buy something, and no longer need to spend a whole $10 to do so.

The addition of this option will come as a huge relief to players that were tired of paying for currency that they didn’t need for an insanely high cost.

At the time of writing, the Apex Legends developers haven’t officially announced this change, but the arrival of this cheaper currency pack shows that they were listening to community feedback.

Rockstar scrapped GTA IV & Red Dead Redemption remasters, claims insider

According to a Rockstar Games insider, there were plans to remaster GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption that were scrapped.

One Rockstar Games insider claims that the company was working on remastered versions of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, but both projects were then scrapped.

The Grand Theft Auto series has been such a huge global success that Rockstar Games have released a next-gen version of GTA V as well as remasters of older titles like GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas.

This has caused players to wonder whether or not Rockstar Games will remaster other popular titles, and one insider claims that the company had plans to do just that. However, it seems like those plans didn’t work out.

GTA IV was a huge hit after its release in 2008, and the first Red Dead Redemption won over players just two years later. It’s no surprise then that players have been hoping to see both of these titles get remastered.

Notable leaker ‘Tez2’ claims that a “reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans” informed them that remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption were in consideration a few years ago. However, Rockstar chose to scrap both of these projects.

The GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption remasters were “in the ideas phase” for years, but production never began. Development was allegedly set to start after the release of the Trilogy Definitive Edition.

The Trilogy Definitive Edition became the lowest-rated Metacritic title ever, and Tez2 added that its poor reception might be the reason that both of these plans were ultimately abandoned.

For many, the idea of both remastered editions being scrapped is disappointing. However, it’s important to keep in mind that these are just leaks that have not been verified by official sources, so take this information with a grain of salt.

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two revealed in their 2022 earnings call that they’re gearing up for “record” earnings with new titles releasing in 2023, 2024, and 2025. It’s possible that these could include a remastered version of another classic Rockstar game.

FIFA 23 Bundesliga ratings: Every team’s best players predictions

The Bundesliga is expected to supply some of the best players in FIFA 23, so we’ve predicted who will have the highest rating for each club.

The Bundesliga will be the battleground for some of FIFA 23’s highest-rated stars, with players from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund set to impact Ultimate Team. Here are our predictions for the top Bundesliga ratings in FIFA 23, as well as every team’s best players.

Each new FIFA title brings new Ultimate Team ratings based on player performances in the previous season, and FIFA 23 will be no different. To discern which players are deserving of an upgrade or downgrade, EA will analyze the 2021/2022 season.

In Germany, the 2021/2022 Bundesliga season saw Bayern Munich cruise to a tenth straight title. The battle for Champions League spots was a fierce one as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig should all expect player rating upgrades in FIFA 23.

But who will be the best players in the Bundesliga? We’ve put together our predictions for the top 10 highest-rated Bundesliga players in FIFA 23, and highlighted the best players from each club.

It’s been quiet summer so far when it comes to Bundesliga transfers. However, things in Germany can still heat up with the summer transfer window open until September 1.

All eyes will be on Bayern Munich as they look to keep a hold of disgruntled star striker Robert Lewandowski. At this moment, the striker is attempting to force a move to Barcelona, but if he remains, there’s no doubt he’ll be the highest-rated FIFA 23 player in the Bundesliga.

Bayern dominates the predicted list of top ten Bundesliga players in FIFA 23. The illustrious German club won ten Bundesliga titles in a row and they’re the clear powerhouse option to pick up an eleventh straight title in 2023.

Elsewhere, Filip Kostic enjoyed a fantastic season in which Frankfurt secured a Europa League trophy. FIFA 22 delivered a whopping ten separate special Christopher Nkunku cards and the midfielder’s performances should see him rise to 84 or 85 in FIFA 23.
