Apex Legends dev confirms “no fill” option coming in Season 8
One Respawn developer has given fans an update on when the “no fill” option will be added to Apex Legends Season 8.
Respawn Entertainment previously revealed plans to introduce a “no fill” option in a future update for Apex Legends, and one developer has confirmed this by letting us know when we can expect to see this in Season 8.
Apex Legends have been asking Respawn for a Solos playlist ever since the battle royale came out back in February 2019. We did briefly get a Solos mode as an LTM, but the developers don’t intend to implement one permanently.
However, Respawn did confirm a while back that they are working on a “no fill” option for fans who want to enjoy a game without matching up with random players. Now, one of the developers has given an update on when this feature will arrive in-game.
Respawn confirm “no fill” option for Apex Legends Season 8
In Respawn’s Reddit AMA, back in November, one user asked about their plan to “allow a solo experience”. Apex Design Director Jason ‘Monsterclip’ McCord responded to these questions by assuring fans that a “no fill” option was on the table.

This would prevent players from getting paired up with other gamers when they join a match. However, this might trap you in 1v2, 1v3, or 1v4 fights if the rest of the lobby is filled with players that don’t have this option activated.
With Season 8’s Mayhem scheduled to drop on February 2, a few fans took to Twitter to ask the devs for an update on this new feature. McCord then told them that while we won’t see it as part of the Season launch, it’s definitely on the way.
“Won’t be S8 launch, but as I said in the reddit AMA it’s on the way,” wrote the developer. “In fact, we’re testing it internally and it’s working, so should be sooner rather than later.”
Based on this, we can probably expect to see it arrive about halfway through Season 8, or hopefully even sooner. This led to a few fans voicing their anticipation in the Twitter thread.
One player stated: “This is going to be amazing. For the team players so the solo sweaty players that break off and die within seconds can go and play by themselves and we’ll get team players in Trios!”
“I remember the solos were great fun to play, but most of all they were beautiful to watch.” added another fan. “I remember a solo tournament was really interesting and very adrenaline-pumping.”
While this is exciting news, a few fans still mentioned that they’re disappointed at the lack of any permanent Solo modes for the game, but Respawn has made it clear that they consider those to be “unhealthy” for the game.
This makes it unclear if we’ll ever see the introduction of those modes to the battle royale, but there might still be hope. A few recent leaks suggest that the developers might be testing out a ranked Solo mode to introduce in Season 8.
However, this hasn’t been verified by the developers so we should take this with a grain of salt. That said, it’s still good to hear that Respawn are adding a no fill feature for fans. Once there are any more updates on this, we’ll be sure to let you know.

This week’s GTA Online update & patch notes for January 28 includes the new Vetir, a new podium vehicle, and more discounts.
The January 28 GTA Online update & patch notes have added the Vetir military truck to the game. They are also offering the Cheetah Classic as a podium vehicle, and has plenty of cool discounts and incentives such as 3x GTA$ & RP.
Despite the Cayo Perico Heist now being a few weeks old, Rockstar is still trying to keep the momentum going for as long as possible with the addition of the Vetir truck.
GTA Online is still receiving regular weekly updates full of content and deals. This week will be no different with a smorgasbord of discounts and GTA$ & RP opportunities for you to take advantage of. Plus, there are cheaper legendary vehicles to put in your garage too.
Some of the GTA Online attention has been diverted lately thanks to lots of interesting GTA 6 talk. For instance, some discoveries have been made by die-hard fans including some new GTA 6 patents and strange files in RDR2. But things have escalated even more so with new rumors swirling around that Rockstar has unannounced titles including a Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy.
Until GTA 6 is official, we will remain focused on GTA Online, and our usual GTA Online leaker TezFunz2 has been able to get early info on the new update once more.
GTA Online January 28 patch notes
Vetir added to GTA Online
Originally announced during the Cayo Perico expansion, the Vetir is now part of the game’s extensive catalog of vehicles.
The Vetir is the literal definiton of a battering ram on wheels and this military truck can be added to your barracks for the sum of $1,630,000.
Cheetah Classic Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel Reward
The Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel has put a free Cheetah Classic up for grabs for Lucky Wheel enthusiasts.
This tarmac-burning demon would normally cost you the hefty sum of $865,000, so hopefully you get lucky! Here’s the official description of the vehicle:
“There’s a kind of charm that only comes with age, and in today’s jaded world nothing’s aged better than the Cheetah Classic. It’s practical, spacious, understated. It oozes red-blooded panache. You open the door, and you catch the smell of brandy and cigars on its breath. It’s eminently respectable, it’s constantly groping its secretary, and it doesn’t even feel the need to pretend it has friends from minority groups. Welcome to the old world.“

There is an opportunity for 3x GTA$ & RP on Mobile Operations Missions this week. With a further reward of 2x GTA$ & RP on the Diamond Casino Adversary Series as well.

Where to find the black box in Fortnite’s Week 9 challenge
A Fortnite Season 5 weekly challenges requires you to find a black box at the crashed plane site. Here’s how you can get this done.
One of Fortnite’s Season 5 Week 9 challenges requires you to find a black box at the crashed plane site. We’ve made it easier to find with the help of a useful map.
Fortnite Season 5 is set to end on March 16, and we’re now in week 9 of the update. This means that there are brand new weekly challenges for you to complete, and you have the opportunity to progress through the Battle Pass.
Week 9’s challenges are simple compared to previous weeks since you’ll mostly do tasks like dealing damage in water and shaking down IO Guards. One of these Epic Quests requires you to find a crashed plane’s black box.
Where to find the black box in Fortnite Season 5
To find the black box, you’ll have to make your way towards the location of the crashed plane, which is at the northwesternmost point of the map. It’s close to the Coral Castle POI on Fortnite Island.
It’s likely that you’ve already been to this area before since it’s usually rich in loot for you to collect. That leads to it also being filled with a high amount of player traffic, so you should be ready for a battle when you head over there.
We’ve made things a bit easier for you by marking the exact location on the map below.
The plane has been split into three parts, and you can find the black box near the middle section. Head over to the marked spot on the map, and you’ll be able to interact with it. That will result in you receiving 20,000 XP in the challenge.
At the moment, we don’t know for sure if this crashed plane will have some sort of major relevance to future events in the battle royale, but it wouldn’t be too surprising if it did. Stealthy Stronghold ended up being tied to the Predator crossover.
That wraps up this relatively simple challenge. You can earn some serious XP, and unlock brand new cosmetics by completing Epic and Legendary quests, so be sure to check out our Fortnite Season 5 Week 9 challenges guide.
