GTA Online is one of the most popular multiplayer games, but do you have to pay for PS Plus to play?
New cars, weapons, missions, and more are added regularly through content updates. And with the newfound love for role-playing servers, streamers have kept a broader interest in GTA Online.
Players will have to purchase the GTA 5 base game to access GTA Online, which is regularly on sale on all platforms. However, those playing on PlayStation might have to pay the premium online service fee.
Can you play GTA Online without PS Plus?
The majority of online games on both the PS4 and PS5 require subscriptions to PS Plus to play. However, there are very few exceptions like Fortnite and Rocket League.
Does GTA Online require a PS Plus subscription? Sadly, yes. You won’t be able to access any of GTA Online’s services without the premium online services.
Those playing on an Xbox console will also have to pay for an Xbox Live subscription. Meaning, all console players have to subscribe to their console’s premium online services. Yet, PC players don’t have to worry about any additional online fees.
With more games avoiding these premium service fees, it’s a wonder that GTA Online still requires them. However, many of the role-play servers that streamers play on are PC only. This is due to the ability to mod GTA 5 on PC.
Regardless, GTA Online is becoming more like a service and will likely live beyond the release of GTA 6.
As such, PlayStation users will continue paying for PS Plus unless Rockstar works something out to where the service is not needed for players to experience the world of GTA Online.

How to get Apex Legends modded weapons in Season 10
The Apex Legends Evolution Collection Event in Season 10 introduced Big Maude on World’s Edge, a new location that holds modded weapons.
For those that don’t know, the most recent Evolution Collection Event for Apex Legends Season 10 introduced Rampart’s Big Maude workshop on World’s Edge, which contains some of her modded weapons.
The Apex Legends community was gifted a lot of content in the Evolution Collection Event. Not only were players given 24 new cosmetics along with Rampart’s Heirloom, but they also got a new location on World’s Edge.
The new POI is Rampart‘s Town Takeover, Big Maude, a mobile workshop land crawler that Rampart uses to mod weapons and engineer various creations like Valkyrie’s jets.
In this location, players can actually find and obtain modded weapons to take on enemies in a colorful style, and here’s how to do so.
Rampart’s Town Takeover: Big Maude
Once players were able to get over the server issues, they could drop into World’s Edge and experience the brand new Rampart Town Takeover, Big Maude.
Where is Big Maude and what’s inside?
Big Maude is just outside of Lava City and doesn’t just contain your average loot. It’s also home to Rampart’s Apex Legends modded weapons that are locked inside of the Landcrawler.
Players can find these Apex Legends modded weapons on the bottom floor of Big Maude behind some glass cabinets. The weapons available can vary from a Rampage and R-301 to a Longbow.
These weapons are not only modded because they are a Gold rarity, meaning they come completely kitted with the best attachments but also because they shoot paintball bullets, leaving colorful splashes of paint everywhere you shoot.
How to get Apex Legends modded weapons
As these Apex Legends modded weapons are locked behind glass windows, players will need to obtain 100 crafting materials from the material extractors and open loot bins. The loot bins will give players 5 crafting materials while the extractors will give players 25, meaning players will need to find four of them to have enough for a modded weapon.
Usually, there are extractors nearby, either at Big Maude or Lava City, so keep this in mind when landing around the area.
Luckily, all players can use these extractors, so you won’t have to worry about others stealing your crafting materials. However, the Apex Legends modded weapons can be taken by others, so make sure you loot up quickly!

Now that Battlefield 2042 has officially been revealed, players are eager to get a first-hand look at what DICE has been cooking up for the past few years.
After being delayed, the game is now on the slate for a November 19, 2021 launch, but DICE also has plans for an Open Beta ahead of its release. With the showcase at EA Play Live, the developers announced a September Beta date, where players can get their hands on the new Specialists, massive maps, and new game modes. However, with the game being delayed, this has reportedly changed.
Here’s everything we know about Battlefield 2042’s Open Beta.
Battlefield 2042 Open Beta dates
As well as announcing Battlefield Portal, during Battlefield 2042’s showcase for EA Play Live on July 22, DICE officially confirmed that players could expect the Open Beta in September 2021. However, signs point towards the Beta now happening in early October.
Adam ‘PartWelsh’ Freeman, EA’s Lead Community Manager, tweeted on September 16 that “New dates for the Open Beta will be shared later this month.”

We likely won’t share those dates today, or tomorrow – and I’ll give you further heads up next week.
He clarified that they “likely won’t share those dates today, or tomorrow – and I’ll give you further heads up next week [week beginning September 20].”
This in itself doesn’t outright guarantee a delay, but according to industry insider Tom Henderson, the Open Beta will occur on October 8, with Early Access happening on October 6.
Henderson said that “The dates found are in an internal system that I cannot share. So it’s another ‘trust me bro’ for now.”
We’ll update you when DICE gives an official release for the Beta.
How to play Battlefield 2042 Open Beta early
Battlefield V’s Beta allowed those who preordered the game to get two days of early access. Battlefield 2042 will follow the same model, with the developers confirming that those who preorder the game will be able to play the Beta first.
If you’ve preordered the game, you’ll get early access to a Closed Beta, likely a couple of days ahead of the Open Beta’s launch.
If you haven’t preordered Battlefield 2042, don’t worry, as you won’t have to spend a penny to play the Open Beta. It will likely appear on your platform of choice’s store as a free download.
