How to earn money fast in GTA Online

There are a variety of different tasks available in GTA Online that will allow you to earn enough cash to get new outfits, vehicles, weapons, and properties. Here are the ones that will get the best results.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your time in GTA Online, it’s always helpful to earn more money so that you can get yourself some cool new cars, weapons, outfits, and even property. The more cash you have, the bigger and better the mayhem you can cause.

There are a few different ways to earn some dollars around Los Santos, from robbing convenience stores for a few hundred dollars to completing heists with big payoffs.

Here are the fastest ways to make money in GTA Online.

Completing GTA Online Heists

GTA Online Heists can be extremely difficult to complete, especially considering all the time and effort you spend preparing for them. The Cayo Perico Heist required you to invest $2.2 million as the Kosatka Submarine HQ is a requirement for the expansion.

However, these investments are well worth it, since you’ll be working towards some of the biggest payouts in the game. You’re guaranteed some massive returns as the heist will net you a whopping $4 million for your efforts!

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time getting ready for this expensive heist, you can try joining someone else’s heist with some of the prep already completed. You can save a ton of cash by not buying a penthouse.

Similarly, you can earn a few thousand dollars during the Diamond Casino heist prep missions, with a total payout of $2,115,000. You can step it up by getting a Gold ranking for your successful completion of the heist, which will net you a total of $2,585,000.

If you go with other players that already have the money needed, then you might luck out with an 85% cut. You can also make your Cayo Perico heist prep much easier through a simple trick involving the Kostaka submarine.

So, if you’re rich and have some extra cash to spare, then you’ll find GTA Online’s heists to be a lucrative source of money.

VIP Work in GTA Online

GTA Online VIP work

If you own your own business in Los Santos, then you’ve got a brand new money-making opportunity in your hands. VIP work has you select a mission type between Hostile Takeover, Headhunter, and Sightseer.

You will then have to complete a series of tasks with the help of your friends so that you can earn between $100,000 and $150,000 per hour, depending on the mission type. Protecting your CEO from threats will get you some hourly cash drops as well.

Luckily, you can get this done with a few friends in your own private lobby so that you don’t have to deal with interference from other GTA Online players.

Racing against the clock in Time Trials

While Time Trials don’t have payouts as big as the ones from the previous two options, they’re still a reliable and efficient source of cash. You can take part in these races every week, and completing them before time runs out will net you a lot of cash.

You’ll be able to earn $50,000 from each trial, and is much quicker than completing a heist or VIP work. Plus, it doesn’t require you to make huge investments to participate either.

Rockstar Games tend to include some boosted payouts for Time Trial missions, and you can check their potential rewards in our weekly GTA Online update guides.

GTA Online Motorcycle Club missions

If you were a fan of GTA 4’s The Lost and Damned DLC then you’ll get a kick out of GTA Online’s Motorcycle Club missions, which have you complete missions as part of a biker gang in Los Santos.

You’ll mainly focus on tasks like gun running or drug smuggling, but you’ll have to invest some time, effort, and cash to get these done. Getting a base for your club will set you back about $200,000, but you can make money easily this way.

You can earn between $10-20k per mission depending on the tasks you picked inside the club’s setup room. If you form a private session with your friends, then you’ll be able to net $100,000 an hour per player.

Participate in double money events

GTA Online has double money events that you can take part in after every weekly update. Many of these involve defeating other players in battle during modes like Motor Wars or Smuggler Sell Missions.

This is a fairly straightforward method of earning cash that you can try out every week. While it’s not the most lucrative option, it’s still worth giving a go just so you can show off your skills as a career criminal to other players.
