GTA 6 fans spot in-game social media platform similar to Instagram
Rockstar GamesRockstar Games officially shared the first trailer for GTA 6 on December 4, and as usual, Grand Theft Auto trailers hide a lot of details. Among them, fans spot an in-game social media platform similar to Instagram.
GTA players have been blessed with the first trailer for the next title in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, GTA 6, which is scheduled to arrive in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Set in a fictional version of Miami, under the name Vice City, the title has been described as the most ambitious GTA to date, featuring many details that resemble real life, similar to how previous iterations have done.
Among them, players noted the game could incorporate a social media platform similar to Instagram, where players are expecting to share content. However, veteran players will know that this isn’t the first time that the franchise approached this feature, although this time is expected to be more complete.
As seen in the trailer, certain parts feature what appear to be user-recorded videos, showcasing a specific UI design reminiscent of popular social media platforms like Instagram. These videos highlight varied content, including twerking, yacht parties, and more.
Additionally, each video section includes usernames, captions, hashtags, and a ‘Follow’ button for the individual content creator. The platform also seems to support live videos, similar to features found on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
This wouldn’t be the first time Rockstar mimic how real life works; previously with GTA 5, the team introduced LifeInvader, a Facebook-based social media platform available in story mode that allowed story characters to share updates about their lives.
Although it hasn’t been revealed how this social media platform will work in GTA 6 yet, players are expecting this to be an interactable platform that allows them to upload content and share it with the community – however, this remains to be seen.
