GTA 6 fans stunned by Rockstar’s “realistic” recreation of Miami
Rockstar GamesGTA 6’s first trailer has the community extremely excited, especially as fans have discovered just how accurate Vice City will be to real-life Miami.
GTA 6 has officially been revealed, releasing in 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game’s first trailer leaked on December 5, and Rockstar owned it by dropping the trailer themselves and sharing a blog post that detailed even more information.
While the gameplay and hardware information are of interest, with many concerned about a PC, PS4, and Xbox One release, some are also curious about the game’s setting and map.
GTA 6 is confirmed to be set in Vice City, which is heavily inspired by Miami, USA. The trailer provided a first look at the depiction of modern-day Miami, which has left fans stunned with how much it seems to “resemble real life Miami.”
One Redditor shared an image of Miami’s Royal Palm Beach from Google Maps in comparison to the GTA 6 trailer, showing off Rockstar’s accuracy.
Fans are clearly impressed with the GTA 6 trailer, feeling as if Rockstar have “nailed” it with the accuracy of Miami. One comment even said, “It’s going to resemble real life Miami much more than Vice City.”
While it isn’t the first time Miami has been depicted in GTA, Vice City’s depiction was much less focused on being an accurate model of the real city.
As we know from GTA 5’s accuracy in depicting LA, Rockstar are very capable of creating a geographically accurate version of a real-life city, and it seems that’s exactly what they’re going for with GTA 6.
Taking it further, it seems GTA 6 will present more than just Miami, but wider areas of Florida too, as MrRoflWaffles shared a thread on X comparing many of the places shown in the trailer compared to real-life locations.
From Ocean Drive to the Everglades, it seems players will be getting an accurate depiction of Florida and not just Miami, as players may even be able to travel up to Jacksonville, Florida.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see just how accurate the map will be to real-life Florida come 2025 when the game launches, however, as it’s described as Rockstar’s “biggest, most immersive” open-world yet, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them recreate a large portion of the state.
