Take-Two Interactive patented a new AI that will help in the development of GTA 6’s NPCs. Find out why the GTA community is so excited about this new AI.

Despite the leaks, GTA 6 Trailer 1 was a huge success. Since its release, fans have done nothing but watch and rewatch the video that broke a Guinness World Record and is now approaching 200 million views.

Fans are so excited about GTA 6 that they pause on every frame of the trailer to speculate on a new possible feature of the game or a new theory about the story of the main characters.

However, no potential theory has excited them more than the new AI that Take-Two Interactive have patented. Reddit user ‘NoDevelopment894’ took the initiative to break down the two most significant AIs.

In the post, the OP includes a screenshot showing five new systems patented by Take-Two, but the Reddit user highlights only two of them, focusing on NPC behavior and building interiors.

Firstly, the OP emphasizes that thanks to the AI tasked with virtual character locomotion, it is expected that NPCs in GTA 6 will generate responses, moods, and animations based on events, atmosphere, other player or NPC moods, and situations. With this “NPC AI,” fans can expect more individualized actions from NPCs, rather than similar or identical actions dictated by an algorithm.

Some fans let their imaginations run wild with the possible outcomes of this new AI, “Imagine walking during late night downtown and running into a group of drunk NPCs that probably had met just a few hours ago.”

The new Take-Two AI patent is expected to enhance the realistic behavior of NPCs.

On the other hand, one of the details in the trailer that caught fans’ attention was the interiors of the buildings. Regarding this, the OP refers to the new “Interiors AI.” Thanks to this patent, GTA 6 will have a system of randomly generated interiors based on “styled categories/tags.”

To user ‘CandidGuidance,’ this seemed “a pretty smart idea” since, through the use of a unique seed for each interior, Rockstar would have “a super lightweight way to fill tons of interior spaces quickly.” User ‘smol_boi2004’ questioned this and pointed out that he think it would be “honestly enough” for an improved furniture placement system and a change in color palettes.

We are still far from knowing how the use of these new AIs will turn out in the development of GTA 6. However, this does not stop the fans’ imagination, and they will continue to propose ideas and speculate on new theories about GTA 6.
