Fans have been searching for clues on the release date of GTA 6 for years now, and it seems that some new clues have popped up on the Rockstar website of a surprise announcement.

There has hardly been any official Grand Theft Auto 6 news to get fans excited, and it’s been almost eight years since GTA V came out. We’ve been looking out for signs of an official release date or plot details.

However, it seems that we might have a big clue for the reveal of the next installment in this popular series. A few fans have discovered a mystery page on Rockstar’s website, and this led to more rumors spreading about GTA 6.

Mysterious page appears on Rockstar’s website

Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption fans can get the latest official updates from Rockstar by visiting the Newswire. On April 6, the devs posted about Naturalist rewards, but something more interesting popped up a day later.

Notable leaker Tez2 noticed something strange on Rockstar’s website and posted about it in the GTA Forums.

“So, Rockstar skipped an article once again,” Tez posted. “Could mean nothing or simply reserved for a ‘GTA Online Job Spotlight’ article etc. Heck, may not even have to do with GTA Online.”

This mystery page is numbered 62005, and its actual contents are currently unknown. This has led to widespread speculation about some potential GTA 6 news, and the YouTuber MrBossFTW has weighed in on this:

“Now I think many people are very hopeful that this is going to be either for the expanded and enhanced version of GTA 5, the standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online – although those would likely be announced together. Or potentially what is next for Grand Theft Auto Online.”

Are Rockstar teasing a GTA remaster?

Tez2 later claimed that this page was “not related to GTA Online,” and MrBossFTW added: “I think that this is a clear indication this is very likely for some title in the future, like a new title. Or that this is for something like a remaster of older Grand Theft Auto games.”

Previously, the developers have stated that they are open to future remasters for GTA titles. In a previous statement, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick promised that they will work on the “very best” versions of old games.

We’ll keep checking for updates regarding this, and will inform you of anything new that we learn.
