New leaks suggest that GTA 6 may not release until 2025
Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series have been eagerly awaiting updates on when the highly-anticipated GTA 6 is set to release, and some new leaks point towards a “2024-2025” release window.
There is a ton of speculation around Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6. While fans of the series are excited, the game itself has yet to be officially announced. However, there are various unverified leaks and rumors about the release date.
The GTA Remastered leak in May stated that that the game will be revealed inside GTA Online, and a live event reveal was supported by a job posting. Now, one leaker has stated that GTA 6 could arrive by 2025 at the latest.
This information came from notable leaker Tom Henderson, who talked about GTA 6’s development in a new video on June 27. In this, the industry insider claimed that we may not see the game arrive until 2024 or 2025.

“GTA 5 is just a powerhouse at the moment,” Henderson said. “Hundreds of thousands of people every single day still play GTA 5 and GTA Online on PC, and that doesn’t include all of the other consoles that this game is on.”
GTA 5 has sold more than 145 million copies since it first launched eight years ago, and continues to outsell many new triple-A titles. Its popularity likely means that Rockstar don’t need to rush to the next title.
Henderson also claimed that GTA 6 will only be on current-gen consoles and PC. “It is not going to release on past-generation consoles,” he stated, as Rockstar is apparently waiting for current-gen hardware to spread to more players.
It’s worth keeping in mind that these are just leaks, and Rockstar haven’t officially announced a release date for the game yet. So, take this information with a grain of salt.
If the game is still in early development, then we’ll likely have to wait three or four years for GTA 6 to arrive. Once we learn of any new details, we’ll be sure to update you.
