An unofficial GTA 6 website was apparently sent an email by Take-Two, asking them to transfer ownership of their domain. The news has divided fans, with some dismissing it entirely, while a popular insider believes it could be true.

Despite no official announcements from Rockstar, GTA 6 remains one of the most anticipated games in development. Following rumors of an official reveal made by a trusted insider, GTA fans have been actively looking for clues of an October announcement.

The latest rumor is that Take-Two, Rockstar Games’ parent company, has allegedly sent an email to ‘GTA6.com,’ requesting that they transfer ownership of their domain by October 26. The news was shared by @kyetweets on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

They shared the image of a PDF file that looks like an official letter from Take-Two. In this letter, Take-Two Interactive is seen asking the GTA6.com domain name owner to transfer the website’s ownership to them by 3 PM BST, October 26, 2023. Justin Roberts, an In-House Counsel at Take-Two Interactive, appears to be the author of the letter.

The user also shared a screenshot of the website, which when visited, shows a “Site not installed” message. Most GTA 6 fans on X immediately dismissed the post, with one user claiming that it “looks like an 18 year old wrote this.”

On the other hand, users on the GTA 6 subreddit didn’t think the email was fake. This is because well-known insider Tez2 discussed it on the GTA Forums, suggesting that it could be true.

Take-Two had apparently sent a similar email to a website called reddeadonline.com before Red Dead Redemption 2 was released. This is what a GTA Forums user was referring to, claiming that the GTA 6 email looked too similar to it, so it must be fake. However, Tez2 responded to them, saying that “it makes more sense that way considering it’s a script.”

Take this with a grain of salt; there’s currently no way to verify whether the email is authentic. Meanwhile, although the ‘GTA6.com’ domain is real, the website hasn’t been installed yet.
