Since Diablo 4 requires an internet connection to be played, errors like WS-116142-5 will stop you from playing the game.
PS5’s error code WS-116449-5 gives a written prompt saying “This service is currently under maintenance”. This either means that all of the PlayStation Network is undergoing maintenance or there are problems caused by an unstable internet connection. Here’s a list of solutions in order to fix PS5 error code WS-116142-5:
- Check the PlayStation Network status to see if there are any widespread issues. If this is the case, you’ll have to wait for PlayStation to solve it on their end.
- If there aren’t reported issues, you should try resetting your internet connection settings on your console and run the internet connection test.
- You can also try turning off your router and modem for five minutes and turning them on again. Then check if your PlayStation 5 was able to connect to your network.
- Check your PlayStation 5 firmware version. If it’s not up to date, you should download the newest version and update your PS5.
- Try putting your licenses back. You’ll be able to do this by entering the Accounts option, and tapping the ‘Other options’. Then, choose Restore Licenses and wait a few minutes until the process is complete.
- If the problem persists, try rebuilding the database or files on your PlayStation 5. Head to the Safe Mode of your PS5 and tap on the Rebuild Database option. This process can take a few minutes.
