How to get Bloodhound’s Step in Elden Ring: Ash of War location, builds, more
FromSoftwareWant to get the Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War in Elden Ring? Here’s where to find it while exploring The Lands Between in Elden Ring.
The Bloodhound’s Step is considered to be one of the most useful Ashes of War in Elden Ring. Although it has no offensive abilities, it gives a massive dodging boost and makes it almost impossible to get hit by enemies if used correctly.
Here’s how you can get the Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War for yourself in Elden Ring.
Bloodhound’s Step location in Elden Ring
You can get the Bloodound’s Step Ash of War in Elden Ring by defeating the Night Cavalry on the bridge opposite Lenne’s Rise tower in Dragonbarrow, Caelid. However, as it is a mid-game area, make sure that you are at least Level 100 before taking on the boss as it might be quite difficult under that.
Do note that Night Cavalry in Elden Ring only appears at night, so make sure to rest up and pass the time until nightfall to find the boss on the bridge. Once you engage it, try to face it on foot (even though your opponent is on a horse) as the area is quite narrow, and you might end up falling to your death if you jump too much with Torrent.
Bloodhound’s Step stats in Elden Ring
Bloodhound’s Step in Elden Ring has an FP cost of five, and a Stamina cost of 12, which is the same as a basic dodge roll. However, it covers double the distance of a roll on a medium equip-load and gives 16 I-frames at 30 fps.
Even though this Ash of War faced several nerfs since the start of the game, it is still one of the best options to try out, especially when facing humanoid bosses to get out of their attack range quickly without any damage.
Players can even lock on to enemies and circle around them for a sweet backstab if done correctly. Either way, you are getting plenty of invulnerability frames, so we recommend keeping a secondary katana or a dagger with the Bloodhound’s Step infused in it at all times in Elden Ring.
Best Bloodhound step builds in Elden Ring
As Bloodhound’s Step can be a substitute for dodging in Elden Ring, you can equip heavy armor like the Bull-Goat set and power-stance with some high DPS weapon like the Bloodhound’s Fang. Having this setup would most likely over-encumber you, but you can tackle it by using Bloodhound’s Step instead of dodging.
However, power-standing Uchigatans don’t sound bad either with the Bloodhound’s Step, as with a bit of Arcane focus you can simultaneously do some severe Bleed damage while using I-frames.
Finally, you can top it all off with the Crucible Feather Talisman to increase the effectiveness of dodge rolls if you are not over-encumbered, and can actually dodge correctly.
