343 Industries have removed the Behemoth ‘Capture the Flag(CTF) map from Halo Infinite’s Ranked Arenas playlist and announced a major rework following player backlash.

Halo Infinite’s developers are bringing a huge change to Ranked Play. The controversial Behemoth CTF map has been removed from the Ranked Arena playlist in response to player criticism.

343 Industries have reassured players that they’re aware of the issues with the map and are planning to implement some major fixes. They’ve also revealed the details of the Behemoth CTF rework.

Halo Infinite’s Community Manager John ‘Unyshek’ Junyszek discussed the Behemoth rework in a recent blog post. While the map is still accessible in casual modes, the CTF mode has been disabled in Ranked Arena.

The dev explained that they’ve disabled the map for a rework because it’s “creating a more frenetic match pace than desired.” They’re currently investigating the map’s layout and other aspects.

“We’ve seen enough data to show us that the map is not performing in Ranked as intended,” Unyshek said. “Most of this data revolves around spawning and effective cover around the map.

He also explained that they’re looking into the “unpredictable” spawn placements as well as a lack of viable cover options. The goal is to ensure that the map performs better in Ranked upon its return.

The Halo Infinite community has responded positively to this announcement by showing excitement for the Behemoth rework. The map’s problems were turning fans away from the CTF mode.

It’s reassuring to know that 343 Industries aren’t lost on the Ranked Arena’s problems. Hopefully, the improvements that they make will be enough to satisfy players when the map is reintroduced.
