A Reddit thread has broken down all of the new confirmed information for Halo Infinite, and some of these features hint at a Battle Royale mode for the game.
In a massive Reddit thread, a player has detailed all the confirmed information regarding Halo Infinite, which is due to launch by the end of 2021. In this thread, the user breaks down content relating to the game’s campaign, multiplayer features, and touches on a system that could hint at the rumored Battle Royale mode coming to the game.
Let’s breakdown some of the important details that were listed under this thread from user u/IntrinsicGamer.
Halo Infinite Will have a dynamic weather system
Apparently, the Halo ring will have a day and night cycle, along with weather systems, including wind. While a rainstorm or snowstorm system won’t exist at launch, the developers have stated they are “excited about the future.”

The thread states that it’s implied there may be future campaign content, we’d like to think this very well could be the foundation for a robust Halo-themed Battle Royale mode. A dynamic weather system in a battle royale always adds great variety to the gameplay, and in a universe like Halo, this would be a welcome change.
As a bonus, it appears the day/night cycles will also affect the in-game cutscenes, which will be an interesting extra layer of immersion.
The game isn’t exactly “Open World”
While players may believe that the game will be an open-world Halo title in the Campaign, the design for the game isn’t necessarily that. Players will have the option to do side-quests around the game world, but all of these different pathways will still lead to the overall next objective.
It seems that the developers focused on making levels similar to Halo: Combat Evolved’s “Silent Cartographer” mission, where each pathway the player takes will feel like a massive and unique experience, but will still ultimately lead to the next point of the game.
In theory, this should add plenty of replay value to the missions for casual players and completionists alike.
A Weapon upgrade system was planned
During development, a weapon upgrade system for the campaign was originally planned, but the developers eventually felt that the system veered away from what Halo was.
Instead, an Equipment upgrade system was chosen, which lets you upgrade equipment items you’ll find on your travels. As a middle ground for the scrapped weapon upgrade system, you’ll instead find powerful and unique weapon variants while traveling the environment.

Best controller settings for Apex Legends Season 14
Movement is king in Apex Legends and this controller layout will give you a leg up on the enemy during Season 14.
Apex Legends Season 14 is well underway, and if you’re looking to gain an advantage over your opponents or keep up with players using mouse and keyboard, then this controller layout may give you a leg up on the enemy.
Apex Legends Season 14 has brought a variety of changes and new content to the battle royale. With Ranked Leagues getting some changes, and the new Recon Legend Vantage keeping things interesting in the Legend meta, having the best possible controller layout on the game is more important than ever.
While mastering your Legend, perfecting your aim, and learning spots are all supremely important in the hunt for victories, movement is king in Apex Legends. It can be the difference between winning a gunfight or heading back to the lobby disappointed.
Whether you’re using a controller or keyboard, making sure you have the right button layout is extremely important if you hope to become a movement master.
For those using customized controllers like Scuf, button layout may not be as much of an issue, as these controllers have much more freedom than the regular stock controllers.
Apex Legends best controller settings
- Button Layout: Evolved
- Stick Layout: Default
- Interact/ReloadButton: Tap to Use and Reload
- Crouch Button: Toggle
- Aim Button: Hold
- Survival Slot Button: On
- Trigger Button Deadzones: None
- Menu Cursor Speed: Around halfway or more
For those using standard controllers to play, the best layout to master movement is the Evolved setting. This layout changes your crouch to the right stick and your jump to the left bumper.
Having your crouch on the right stick will allow you to crouch spam, a very important move when it comes to winning fights in Apex Legends. Although this will take some getting used to, as keeping your aim on point while crouch spamming is fairly difficult, once you are comfortable with it you will see an instant improvement in your mobility.
Evolved will also change your jump button to the left bumper, which again will take some getting used to, however, the freedom to jump, climb, and stay mobile while keeping your thumb on the right stick is vital to improving your game in Apex Legends.
Movement / Aiming
- Look Sensitivity: 5
- Look Sensitivity (ADS): 4
- Per Optic Settings: On
- Response Curve: Classic
- Look Deadzone: None / Small
- Movement Deadzone: Small
- Inverted Look: Off
- Vibration: On
- Advanced Look Controls: Off
As for the Movement / Aiming section in the settings, we’ve found that the Classic Response Curve is the best all-around and feels most comfortable in-game. It’s also important to have your Look Deadzone at a minimum so either None or Small depending on your stick drift.
We’ve opted for Vibration On, but a lot of players may find it easier to have it Off if they feel it is affecting their ability to control recoil. Advanced Look Controls gives the player much more advanced customization options that a player will need to spend a lot of time with in order to perfect, which can be beneficial. However, we find the default options enough to get the most out of your aim and movement.
Of course, these settings are a great template for players, but you will most likely want to play around with the Look Sensitivity and ADS Sensitivity until you find what works for you.
- Button Hints: On
- Crosshair Damage Feedback: Off
- Weapon Auto-Cycle on Empty: On
- Auto-Sprint: Off
- Double-Tap Sprint: Off
- Jetpack Control: Hold
There are a lot of Gameplay settings in Apex Legends, but these are the most relevant for optimizing performance on Controller. First off, we think it’s beneficial for Button Hints to be On, as new players may want to be reminded of how to perform certain actions.
Having said that, more experienced players may want to switch this setting and Crosshair Damage Feedback Off to reduce HUD clutter. For Weapon Auto-Cycle on Empty, we feel having this setting On means players don’t have to worry about swapping weapons manually when they run out of ammo mid-fight. This will automatically switch your weapon so you can focus on getting the kill.
Some players like Auto Sprint, especially if their analog sticks are stiff. However, we feel this setting is better switched Off, as it is much easier to walk slowly and make more discreet plays.
For those Valkyrie mains, having your Jetpack Control on Hold makes it much easier to make quick escapes and movements with your Jetpack than Toggle.
Does FOV affect controller aim?
Field of View or FOV can definitely affect a player’s aim on controller. It’s beneficial to have this setting higher than the default value of 70, as it can increase the amount you see around you. However having it too high can affect a player’s aim negatively, as it reduces the size of objects and enemies that are far away.
With that being said, there’s definitely a sweet spot for controller players, but ultimately this setting is a preference and players will need to figure out what works best for them.

Apex Legends Season 14 is here, but which Legends are dominating Season 14 of Respawn’s battle royale so far?
Season 14 of Apex Legends has tons of characters to choose from to enjoy its several maps. But who has the top Season 14 pick rates in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?
Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many popular streamers such as NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect continuing to support the game, Apex has grown expeditiously.
There are now a whopping 22 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. With Season 14 now here, the new Legend Vantage has already knocked some fan-favorite characters out of the running.
Let’s see how the current roster’s pick rates are looking to give us an idea of the most popular Legends in Apex Legends Season 14.

Most picked Legends in Apex Legends Season 14
5. Bloodhound – 7.8%
Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 14.
Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark the seasons go on, and they have dropped slightly to 7.8%. Don’t let that put you off though, as they are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.
4. Pathfinder – 7.9%
Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 7.9%, and counting, for quite some time now.
As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.
3. Wraith – 8.9%
Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number three with an 8.9% pick rate in Season 14.
Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan favorite in Apex Legends Season 14.
2. Octane – 9.8%
With a 9.8% pick rate, the speed demon has been dropped to the number two spot but continues his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 14, fluctuating between the top two places.
Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.
But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.
1. Vantage – 12% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 14
Of course, it’s the brand-new Legend Vantage that takes the top spot in Apex Legends Season 14. With a 12% pick rate, Vantage has stolen the show from other top Legends such as Octane and Valkyrie.
Vantage’s incredible popularity is probably due to her being new, but she’s not to be trifled with either. Her Sniper Rifle is an incredibly strong weapon, she’s able to wall run, and has a direct counter to Mirage.
How her pick rate will change throughout Season 14 remains to be seen, but she’s well-worth using on the overhauled Kings Canyon.
That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 14. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.
We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out how to get the Twitch Prime skin for the month of August.

Fortnite Lord of the Rings easter egg teases Tolkien crossover coming soon
Fortnite players have discovered a major Lord of the Rings easter egg on the map, teasing a crossover is coming soon.
Fortnite players have discovered a familiar Lord of the Rings landmark in the Season 3 island, teasing the leaked crossover is coming soon.
It’s been a big week for The Lord of the Rings in the gaming space. Not only is Weta Workshop teaming up with Take-Two to develop a new game set in Tolkien’s Middle-earth, but Swedish company Embracer Group are acquiring the rights to everything Lord of the Rings.
Fortnite content creator ‘Koooooomar’ discovered that the rock-child is building a replica of Helm’s Deep from the Lord of the Rings. This was the ancient fortress the people of Rohan retreated to in The Two Towers for the movie’s major battle. You can find the sculpture southeast of Condo Canyon on the shore.
There’s almost no denying this sculpture is based on Helm’s Deep, with the ramp leading up to the keep on the right-hand side and the Deeping Wall stretching across the makeshift valley. It even has a gap in the wall and scorch marks where the Uruk-Hai blew through it in the movie and trash makes up the advancing forces.
Leakers are convinced a Doomslayer skin will be coming soon thanks to it being free on the Epic Game store, but the same leak claims a Lord of the Rings crossover is also in the works.
With Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show releasing in September, this could be the perfect time to tie the bundles in with The Rings of Power. We could even see Sauron, Gandalf, or Galadriel in the Season 4 Battle Pass which goes live in late September, but that’s just hopeful speculation.
