Halo Infinite players have started to connect the dots after some leaked images hinting at a potential Buzz Lightyear crossover have come to light.

Video game crossovers have gained traction recently and Halo Infinite may be teasing the first major crossover to hit the game. With a ton of buzz generated by the upcoming Call of Duty x Attack on Titan crossover, Halo Infinite seems to be planning a crossover to rival the FPS franchise.

Thematically a Buzz Lightyear x Halo Infinite crossover isn’t the most farfetched idea and with the standalone Lightyear movie set to hit theatres June 2022, it could be the next Hollywood franchise to make its way into a video game.

Halo Infinite crossover

Images of several new Warthog skins have surfaced on the Halo subreddit and an eagle-eyed community member had an interesting point to make concerning one of the new skins players could be set to acquire in Halo Infinite.

In total, the images showcase 23 Warthog skins lined up one after another. One Warthog skin, in particular, boasts a color scheme that is eerily similar to Toy Story’s iconic Space Ranger.

The rumored Buzz Lightyear colors can be seen on the first Warthog from the left. Thanks to the white, purple, green, and red accents, Reddit user modestmoose3000 was quick to point out the familiar color scheme, “Is that a Buzz Lightyear one?”.

A Halo Infinite x Buzz Lightyear crossover would surely get Toy Story fans excited at the prospect of additional cosmetics that share the same color scheme. Given the fact that these are simply leaks, they must be treated as rumors for the time being.

It’s possible that Halo is just paying tribute to the Space Ranger prior to the theatrical release coming up next Summer.

For now, it’s best to be cautious with leaks and not take this possible crossover too seriously until additional information comes to light.

Halo Infinite leak reveals 5 new maps coming soon

A Halo Infinite leaker has discovered five upcoming maps in the game’s files, giving us our first look at possible additions to the game.

A new leak for Halo Infinite claims that players will have plenty of new arenas to compete in, with five multiplayer maps allegedly on the way.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer dropped to widespread acclaim back in November 2021, with 10 maps included for players to battle on.

While the majority of Infinite’s maps are fun, players have still been asking for more to be added. Specifically looking for classic multiplayer maps to make a return to the game, although 343 have already stated they won’t be adding exact replicas of previous arenas.

Unfortunately, a new leak from January 14 doesn’t include any fan favorites from yesteryear but does claim that five new maps are on the way in the not too distant future.

In a tweet on January 13, ‘leaks_infinite‘ shared in-progress pictures of five new maps, along with their names. According to the leaker, Cataract, Forbidden, Beltway, Solitude, and Bath Salts are headed to the game, although some think the latter is actually called Basalts.

The images show the maps in early development, which means they don’t look like anything you would expect to see in the game.

Using existing in-game assets to give a general idea of shape and layout, we can catch our first glimpse at upcoming Halo Infinite maps.

According to one Twitter user, these images show the maps in the “blockout phase,” which is when devs create a basic layout of the map using low-poly assets. The maps certainly look interesting, with one featuring train tracks, and another inside what looks like caves.

Of course, just because these images have been found, that doesn’t mean we’ll definitely see them in the game. Developers often add assets that never see the light of day, so just keep that in mind.

Halo Infinite devs have finally responded to the game’s frustrating desync issues, that have left players frustrated and struggling with buggy gameplay.

343 Industries have been investigating some of Halo Infinite’s biggest problems, such as Big Team Battle’s matchmaking and hackers. Their aim is to improve the gameplay experience for fans as much as possible.

Now, the developers are focusing their efforts on one of the game’s most prominent issues: desyncs. 343 Industries have reassured Halo Infinite fans that they’re aware of this issue and have promised a fix.

Jerry Hook, Head of Design at 343 Industries, stated that they’re looking into Halo Infinite’s issues: “We are jumping back in and it looks like the great engineers have over the break been working on the issues with BTB and PC cheating.”

He then added that the desync problem is “being looked at.” Online games can sometimes get ruined by connection issues that cause a desync between people’s connections in a lobby, making players appear in the wrong spot.

This problem has persisted across game modes like Big Team Battle and Team Slayer. It seems that fans won’t have to put up with this issue much longer, as it will get patched up in a future update.

At the time of writing, the devs haven’t given us an ETA for when the desync issues will be patched. Halo Infinite fans have plenty of fixes to look forward to, with 343 promising a patch for mid-February.

We’ll hopefully see major improvements to the game’s matchmaking servers as well as the problem of hackers.

Spartans in Halo Infinite

343 Industries have announced a new update patch that will address the game’s hacking issues and fix the matchmaking issues in the Big Team Battle multiplayer mode.

Halo Infinite features a ton of fun content for players to enjoy, but certain aspects of it have received criticism. This includes matchmaking issues in the Big Team Battle (BTB) multiplayer mode.

These kinds of problems can make the game less fun. Now, 343 Industries have announced a major update that will fix this problem while also addressing the issue of hackers ruining matches.

343 Industries announced this update in a new post on the Halo Waypoint website. They first provided a situation update on the state of BTB in Halo Infinite, stating that a strike force investigated the problem.

The matchmaking issues increase if there are more players and larger fireteams attempting to join a game together. The devs reassured fans that they’re “optimistic” that they have a fix for this problem.

“This went into QA last week and so far it’s looking positive,” 343 Industries wrote. “We are not seeing this issue occur internally using this build.” They didn’t give an ETA for this fix but promised they’ll release it soon.

The devs then brought up that they’re also preparing a patch for mid-February that will address instances of cheating. More details will become available as we get closer to the release of the update.

Hopefully, the developers will announce the official release date for the update patch soon. We’ll keep checking for any developments regarding this and will be sure to update this article with that information.
