Halo Infinite players are already loving the surprise early launch of the game’s multiplayer component, but they have taken exception to the game’s XP system and feel it desperately needs to be changed, leading to a response from a 343 Industries dev.
The campaign, and any other unexpected content, is due to launch on December 8, but players are already well underway in the game’s multiplayer beta. However, despite all the cool maps, weapons, and gameplay features that Halo Infinite has, fans are disappointed with one aspect of it – the XP progression system.
But thankfully, 343 Industries have shown that they won’t sit idly and watch the issue escalate further as they have come out and addressed it.
Frustrating Halo Infinite XP & Battle Pass System
Progression and leveling up are vital elements of any sustainable online multiplayer that wants decent longevity.
343 Industries have highlighted Halo’s long-term focus by declaring that their Battle Passes won’t expire, but it seems like the game’s XP system isn’t going to make it easy to complete them.
A post on the Halo subreddit has garnered an astonishing 17.3K upvotes and rising, called: “There MUST be per-match XP.”
In it, user Aeroslade said: “Leveling the battle-pass is frustrating, completing a hard-fought game only to slowly see increments of sometimes 100-200XP per challenge and nothing else. I really hope they implement XP for matches completed and matches won.”
In theory, it’s possible for a player to drop majorly kill-heavy games and virtually no rewards for doing so. Some of the challenges also seem to encourage play that isn’t in keeping with objectives and could consequently hurt team performances and scores.

One comment with 6K upvotes said; “Per match XP based on medals you earn seems like a no-brainer,” whereas another said: “I have played for 4 hours, and I am just about halfway through Level 2. No idea how anyone is supposed to reach Level 100 with the current rate of XP gain, in any reasonable amount of time, without spending $$$ – which I guess is the intention.”
343 Industries responds to XP system complaints
The outcry towards the system has now drawn the attention of 343 Industries, in particular, their Community Director Brian Jarrard who has issued a response.
He said: “Thank you to everyone who has jumped into the #HaloInfintie beta so far! FYI the team is looking at Battle Pass progression and gathering data from yesterday’s sessions and we’ll share updates as we have them. Please continue to share feedback and raise flags as you see them.”
It’s extremely positive to see that 343 are already looking into the game’s main criticism and will presumably look for a solution that works for everyone moving forward.
Halo Infinite’s online multiplayer is still technically in its Beta phase, so it’s always possible that 343 Industries will change the XP system during Season 1, or at the very least for the beginning of Season 2.

Leaked Fortnite x Dead by Daylight crossover: Rumors, possible character skins
A Dead by Daylight crossover is reportedly on its way to Fortnite, and here’s everything we know about it, including all leaked cosmetics.
Epic Games are reportedly gearing up to bring a Dead by Daylight crossover to Fortnite, and here’s everything we know, including all leaked cosmetic skins and rumors.
Epic Games have added numerous crossovers that have brought new cosmetic skins to Fortnite, from popular fictional characters like Indiana Jones and Spider-Man to real-life celebrities like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
We’ve also seen crossovers with other popular video game franchises, and some new leaks suggest that Fortnite’s devs are currently planning a collaboration with survival-horror game Dead by Daylight.
Fortnite x Dead by Daylight leaked cosmetic skins
On June 26, prominent Fortnite leaker ‘Shiina’ tweeted that an anonymous source sent them images of a new Llama Charm as well as a new cosmetic skin of Meg Thomas from Dead by Daylight.
According to the leaker, this crossover “might happen soon” and would add new cosmetic items for both games. Dead by Daylight players will be able to earn the Llama Charm, and the Meg Thomas skin will arrive in Fortnite.
Rumors of this crossover were sparked by Twitter user ‘McNeil Racing77’ who shared a few images on June 9, claiming that Dead by Daylight characters had been spotted in a Fortnite survey.
These mentioned the names of David, Dwight, and The Legion from the horror-survival title, and it’s possible that they might all be added to Fortnite as part of the same cosmetic bundle. Interestingly, Meg Thomas wasn’t mentioned in this leaked survey.
While this all seems exciting, it’s worth keeping in mind that this information has yet to be verified by the developers of either game, so be sure to take it with a grain of salt until there’s an official announcement.
We’ll keep checking for more leaks and information about the Fortnite and Dead by Daylight crossover, including the release dates and additional cosmetic items. Once we learn more, we’ll be sure to update you.

Most picked Legends in Apex Legends Season 13
5. Bloodhound – 8.6%
Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 13.
Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 8.6%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.
4. Pathfinder – 9.2%
Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 9.2%, and counting, for quite some time now.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.
3. Valkyrie – 10.1%
Despite getting some nerfs, Valkyrie is in the top 5 Legend pick rates for Season 13 with 10.1%, as she is the movement Queen. Her Jetpack Passive allows players to escape any kind of situation, which is crucial for survivability.
As well as her Passive, her Skyward Dive Ultimate is also great for mobility. This ability is the best rotational tool in all of Apex Legends, as it allows her and the team to relocate from a bad position or situation, into a good one.
Lastly, Valkyrie’s Tactical is also extremely useful for being aggressive and getting enemies out of camping spots, so long as you have enough room above you to launch the Missile Swarm.
2. Wraith – 10.2%
Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number two spot with a 10.2% pick rate in Season 13.
Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan favorite in Apex Legends Season 13.
1. Octane – 11.2% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 13
With a 11.2% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number one spot, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 13, fluctuating between the top two places.
Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.
But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.
That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 13. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.
We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out our guide on the best Legends to choose in Season 13.
