Warzone’s Gas Mask animation has been a talking point since the game’s launch, with players calling for the ability to manually toggle their mask on and off. While the option was added with the Season 4 Reloaded update, it doesn’t work yet but will be enabled “soon.”

Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded is here, and while the game files have reportedly revealed a ton of what’s to come, there’s plenty of new content to dig into. Alongside the brand-new Vargo-S Assault Rifle, players can battle zombies in the Rebirth of the Dead playlist and try out some newly-buffed Modern Warfare weapons.

There are almost always a few stealth changes in the patch notes, and players have noticed that there’s now an option to manually toggle their Gask Mask on and off. While the feature isn’t live yet, a senior Warzone dev confirmed it’s coming “soon.”

Alongside all of the major changes arriving with Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded, players were quick to notice that a highly-requested option was added to the settings menu. At the bottom of the Controls section in Controller or Keyboard & Mouse settings, there’s now a slider for Gas Mask is Toggle Only.

The in-game description confirms that having the option set to Disabled is the current system, where your Operator will automatically put on the mask when touching the gas. But having the option Enabled will make sure that the “Gas Mask is only put on when toggled by the player.”

Unfortunately, with the change not being mentioned in the patch notes and the function not actually working yet, the setting was added early. This was confirmed by Warzone’s Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins who said: “We revealed our Royal Flush poker hand a little early, full implementation is to come soon. “

Players who have experimented with the slider have confirmed that the upcoming feature can’t be abused. A major concern was that players would repeatedly equip their Gask Mask when close to death, preserving its life for much longer than intended.

However, the mask will continue to take damage whether equipped or not, similar to how it still breaks when lying on the ground in the gas.
