Fu Xuan’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail explained
Fu Xuan is a five-star Honkai Star Rail Quantum element character in the Path of The Preservation. Characters in this specific Path specialize in protecting allies with shields and taunting enemies to tank damage with their vast HP. Fu Xuan is currently boosted in the second phase of update 1.3 in her own banner titled Foreseen, Foreknown, Foretold.
Here are all of Fu Xuan’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail:
- Novaburst (Basic attack) – Deals Quantum DMG to a single enemy.
- Known by Stars, Shown by Hearts (Skill) – Activates Matrix of Prescience. With it, other team members will distribute 65% of the DMG they receive to Fu Xuan for three turns. Additionally, while affected by Matrix of Prescience, all team members gain the Knowledge effect, which increases their Max HP and CRIT Rate by different percentages. If Fu Xuan is knocked down, the Matrix of Prescience is dispelled.
- Woes of Many Morphed to One (Ultimate) – Deals Quantum DMG to all enemies and obtains one trigger count for the HP Restore effect granted by Fu Xuan’s Talent.
- Bleak Breeds Bliss (Talent) – While Fu Xuan is still active in battle, Misfortune Avoidance is applied to the entire team. With it, allies take less DMG during battle. When Fu Xuan’s current HP falls to 50% or less, HP Restore is triggered for her, restoring part of the HP she is currently missing. This effect possesses one trigger count by default and can have a maximum of two trigger counts.
- Of Fortune Comes Fate (Technique) – After the Technique is used, all team members receive a Barrier for 20 seconds. This Barrier can block all enemy attacks, and the team will not enter battle when attacked. Entering battle in this state will have Fu Xuan automatically activate Matrix of Prescience at the start of the battle, lasting for two turns.
As you can see, Fu Xuan is another five-star character that can take Honkai Star Rail by storm. Considering her abilities, you should always keep an eye on and enhance her HP. Most of her abilities rely on it and can have great effects in battle, so keep that in mind. Her SPD is another stat you should try to improve alongside her Energy Regen.
As for Traces, her Talent should be your priority when building Fu Xuan, so she can mitigate as much damage as she can. Her Skill is also extremely important, so make sure you pair her with characters that don’t abuse Skill Points in battle.
Best Relics for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail
Longevous Disciple
- Two-piece bonus: Increases Max HP by 12%.
- Four-piece bonus: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8% for two turns and up to two stacks.
While there isn’t a perfect Relic set for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail, we recommend building her with two different two-piece sets for better results. Longevous Disciple is ideal for Fu Xuan because it increases her HP, which should be a priority, as we mentioned.
Guard of Wuthering Snow
- Two-piece bonus: Reduces DMG taken by 8%.
- Four-piece bonus: At the beginning of the turn, if the wearer’s HP is equal to or less than 50% of their Max HP, restores HP equal to 8% of their Max HP and regenerates 5 Energy.
Since Fu Xuan can distribute the damage received by the whole party, equipping her with Guard of Wuthering Snow is a smart move. You’ll reduce the damage Fu Xuan takes with a two-piece set, and can further improve her abilities with a full set. However, combining this with Longevous Disciple might be the safest choice.
Passerby of Wandering Cloud
- Two-piece bonus: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
- Four-piece bonus: At the beginning of the battle, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point.
Although Fu Xuan isn’t a healer in Honkai Star Rail, this Relic set can improve her Talent greatly. Combining a two-piece set of Passerby of Wandering Cloud with Longevous Disciple will make sure Fu Xuan stays alive in battle to use all her abilities. The four-piece Passerby of Wandering Cloud can also work on its own if you don’t have a better alternative.
Best Planar Ornament for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail
Fleet of the Ageless is a Honkai Star Rail Planar Ornament that can help Fu Xuan with her supporting abilities. It increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12% for starters, which is something you’ll want for Fu Xuan. Additionally, when her SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%, giving Fu Xuan even more relevance in battle.
Alternatively, Belobog of the Architects can also improve Fu Xuan’s capabilities. This Planar Ornament increases the wearer’s DEF by 15%, and when the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate is 50% or higher, the wearer gains an extra 15% DEF. Again, improving Fu Xuan’s HP and DEF is key, so this is another interesting choice for her.
Broken Keel can also work with Fu Xuan since it increases her Effect RES by 10% and then, when her Effect RES is at 30% or higher, increases all allies’ CRIT DMG by 10%. While it doesn’t improve her own abilities, it makes her a great ally in battle with added supporting capabilities.
Best Light Cone for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail
She Already Shut Her Eyes
Every five-star character in Honkai Star Rail has their own signature Light Cone, and Fu Xuan is no exception. She Already Shut Her Eyes is ideal for her because it increases the wearer’s Max HP and Energy Regeneration Rate. Additionally, when the wearer’s HP is reduced, all allies’ DMG dealt increases for two turns. If that isn’t enough, at the start of every wave, it restores HP to all allies.
Moment of Victory
Gepard‘s signature Light Cone is another great choice for characters in the Path of The Preservation. It increases the wearer’s DEF and Effect Hit Rate while it increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies. Then, when the wearer is attacked, their DEF increases by an extra amount until the end of their turn. This can turn Fu Xuan into a proper tank in battle so all other characters focus on dealing DMG.
We Are Wildfire
With this Light Cone, the DMG dealt to all allies decreases for five turns at the start of the battle. At the same time, immediately restores some HP to all allies. Again, this Light Cone adds healing capabilities to Fu Xuan’s arsenal, so you should keep it in mind.
The truth is that most Preservation Light Cones are very effective, so alternatives like Defense, Texture of Memories, Trend of the Universal Market, or Landau’s Choice can also work very well with Fu Xuan.
Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Fu Xuan
With Fu Xuan as your Shielder, your Honkai Star Rail team should also have one or two DPS. Additionally, thanks to Fu Xuan’s healing capabilities, you don’t actually need a healer. You can fill that spot with a support character that enhances the team in different ways.
Seele and Dan Heng are the best DPS to pair Fu Xuan with. Yanqing can also benefit from Fu Xuan’s CRIT Rate boost, so keep that in mind. For support characters, Bronya is always a great choice. Asta can also work pretty well alongside Fu Xuan, as can Yukong. On the other hand, Silver Wolf can be an interesting choice if you’re looking to weaken enemies instead of powering up allies.
If you do want a healer in your team, you can opt for Luocha, free-to-play Natasha, or the latest addition to the game, Lynx. In that case, Fu Xuan can become a sub DPS, but you should enhance her DMG output instead of healing capabilities.
