Honkai Star Rail 2.5 leaks & everything you need to know

The Honkai Star Rail 2.5 update is set to continue the Wardance storyline by adding more playable characters, and leaks are already teasing what’s coming next.

Here’s everything we know so far about the HSR 2.5 update, including leaked banners and more.

When is Honkai Star Rail update 2.5 coming?

HoYoverse haven’t yet revealed when the 2.5 update will arrive, but based on Honkai Star Rail’s six-week update cycle, it will likely launch on September 11, 2024.

We’ll update this section once we have a confirmed release date for version 2.5.

HSR 2.5 leaked banners

According to leaks, Feixiao and Lingsha will be the boosted 5-star units in Honkai Star Rail 2.5 banners. The characters were officially revealed in July 2024 via drip marketing alongside Moze, the 4-star unit that is also expected to feature in the 2.5 banners.

Since these are the only officially revealed units that haven’t yet debuted, it’s safe to say they’ll headline the coming update banners.

The same leaks also indicate Black Swan and Dr. Ratio will get re-runs for their banners, but we suggest taking this information with a grain of salt.

What to expect from Honkai Star Rail 2.5?

While HoYoverse are keeping official details under wraps for now, we expect the Wardance storyline to continue, allowing players to use characters like Feixiao and Moze for a limited time. Familiar faces could likely return to face players in a tournament with limited-time rewards before jumping to the next storyline.

Leaks revealed new Planar Ornaments are reportedly coming with update 2.5. These Planar Ornaments seem to go well with the new characters, but players can find uses for other units. New consumables are also expected to make their way into the game.

There’s also a pet system in the works. While details are scarce, leaks suggest a pet will follow players around after completing the Wardance event. Interacting with this pet could allow players to enter combat training simulations, with more pets expected to arrive in future updates.

Lastly, UI changes are reportedly arriving with the Honkai Star Rail update 2.5, allowing players to easily navigate and teleport to different activities to get materials for specific characters.
