Yunli in Honkai Star Rail

Honkai Star Rail adds characters with every new update, and players can now add Yunli to their teams.

She’s a fundamental part of the new storyline in the Xianzhou Alliance, so here’s the best Yunli build with the ideal Light Cone, Relics, and teammates, as well as details on her abilities, materials, and Eidolons.

Best Honkai Star Rail Yunli build

  • Relics: The Wind-Soaring Valorous
  • Planar Ornament: Inert Salsotto
  • Light Cone: Dance at Sunset
  • Team: Herta, Lynx, Imaginary March 7th (F2P) / Robin, Huohuo, Tingyun

Yunli can be the main DPS on your team, and you should focus on improving her ATK more than anything. She can Taunt enemies, which counts as a debuff. She also has a useful follow-up attack that works as a counter, meaning it’ll trigger every time she’s attacked.

You can build her with The Wind-Soaring Valorous and Inert Salsotto, which enhance her follow-up attack and Ultimate DMG. Then, we recommend surrounding her with support characters so she can turn into a relentless unit with massive DMG output.

Best Relics for Yunli

The Wind-Soaring Valorous

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases ATK by 12%.
  • Four-piece bonus: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 6%. When the wearer uses a follow-up attack, increases the DMG dealt by Ultimate by 36% for one turn.

Enhancing Yunli’s ATK is a must, so The Wind-Soaring Valorous is the ideal Relic set for her. It increases her ATK for starters, and then her CRIT Rate and Ultimate DMG thanks to her follow-up attack. Alternatively, you can also use a two-piece set to combine it with another Relic.

Champion of Streetwise Boxing

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Physical DMG by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: After the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5% for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to five times.

This Relic set works great for Clara and can also do wonders for Yunli. Getting attacked to trigger her follow-up attack is key to mastering Yunli’s abilities, so Champion of Streetwise Boxing will reach its maximum potential in no time.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases the DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by 20%.
  • Four-piece bonus: When the wearer uses follow-up attacks, increases the wearer’s ATK by 6% for every time the follow-up attack deals DMG. This effect can stack up to eight times and lasts for three turns. This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a follow-up attack.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke is another great option to use, whether you prefer the full set or just the two-piece alternative. However, it’s important to note that the effects of the four-piece set won’t be achieved since Yunli uses her Counter quite often.

Best Planar Ornament for Yunli in HSR

Inert Salsotto is the best overall Planar Ornament for Yunli in HSR. It increases her CRIT Rate by 8%, and when her current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, her Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increase by 15%. This enhances Yunli’s kit in all the right places.

Alternatively, Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves can work great too if you pair Yunli with other characters with follow-up attacks. With this Planar Ornament, when allies use follow-up attacks, Yunli gains one stack of Merit. Each stack of Merit, up to five maximum, increases the DMG dealt by her own follow-up attacks by 5%. If she reaches five stacks, it additionally increases her CRIT DMG by 25%.

Best Yunli Light Cone

Dance at Sunset

Greatly increases the odds that the wearer will be attacked and increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG. After the wearer uses their Ultimate, they receive one stack of Firedance for two turns and up to two stacks. Each stack of Firedance increases the DMG dealt by the wearer’s follow-up attack.

Yunli debuted alongside her signature 5-star Light Cone, so you should get it while you can. This Light Cone enhances her CRIT DMG and follow-up attack while giving her more chances to get attacked to unleash her Counter effectively.

Something Irreplaceable

Clara’s Light Cone increases the wearer’s ATK by up to 40%, and when the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, it immediately restores HP equal to 8~12% of the wearer’s ATK. This alone is perfect for Yunli’s kit since it’s very similar to Clara’s. With this Light Cone, Yunli can heal herself effectively.

That’s not all, as the wearer’s DMG also increases by up to 40% until the end of their next turn thanks to this Light Cone.

On the Fall of an Aeon

Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by up to 16% in this battle. This effect can stack up to four times. After a character inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, the wearer’s DMG increases by up to 24% for two turns.

This is a great Light Cone that works with most Destruction units since its effects are easy to trigger in almost any battle.

Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Yunli

The best team for Yunli should be a hypercarry team composed of Robin, Tingyun, and Huohuo. Robin can increase Yunli’s ATK with her lengthy Ultimate, while Tingyun can do the same with her Skill. Additionally, both Huohuo and Tingyun’s Ultimates can generate Energy for Yunli, allowing her to unleash her Ultimate often, enhancing her follow-up attack in the process.

If you’re going for a free-to-play composition, Lynx should be your healer since her Skill will make enemies attack Yunli more often. Then, you can add Imaginary March 7th or Herta as a Sub-DPS and Pela as a debuff unit to lower the enemies’ DEF.
