Yunli character card in Honkai Star Rail

Honkai Star Rail adds enticing characters with every new update, and players are ready to meet new faces very soon.

Yunli is a highly-anticipated unit, and many details about her have already leaked ahead of her debut. So, here’s everything we know so far about Yunli, including her lore, abilities, materials, and more.

Who is Yunli?

Yunli is the granddaughter of General Huaiyan of the Xianzhou Zhuming. She’s of a similar age as Yanqing and loves collecting different swords as well, so players expect some kind of competition between these characters.

She’s on a quest to “hunt down and wipe out all cursed swords” in the Xianzhou Zhuming. What’s more, leaks suggest she’ll face players in battle before becoming their latest ally in the new storyline.

Players have already visited the Xianzhou Luofu during their adventures, but that’s only one ship in the Xianzhou Alliance Hexafleet. Leaked details suggest players will meet characters from other ships in the coming updates.

Does Yunli have a release date?

No, HoYoverse haven’t yet revealed Yunli’s release date, but she will arrive with update 2.4. She was officially revealed by the devs on June 5, right before sharing details about the 2.3 update, which suggests she’ll debut on the following version.

The Penacony storyline that started on version 2.0 is finally over with an Epilogue released on update 2.3, so players expect to see new areas and new faces after that.

Leaked abilities

  • Galespin Summersault (Basic ATK) – Deals Physical DMG to a single enemy.
  • Bladeborne Quake (Skill) – Restores HP based on Yunli’s ATK and deals Physical DMG to an enemy target, and half of that DMG to adjacent targets.
  • Earthbind, Etherbreak (Ultimate) – Consumes 120 Energy. Yunli gains Parry and Taunts all enemies, lasting until the end of the next turn of an ally or an enemy, and increases the CRIT DMG of Yunli’s next Counter. When the Counter Talent effect is triggered while Parry is active, it will be switched to a Counter Intuit: CUll effect and also dispel Parry. If no Counters are triggered while Parry is active, when the effect ends, Yunli will immediately launch a Counter Intuit: Slash effect on a random enemy target.
    • Intuit: Slash deals Physical DMG to the target and adjacent targets.
    • Intuit: Cull does the same and additionally deals six instances of DMG, with each one dealing DMG to a random enemy target. This is considered Ultimate DMG.
  • Flashforge (Talent) – When Yunli is attacked by an enemy target, additionally regenerates 15 Energy and immediately launches a Counter on the attacker, dealing Physical DMG to adjacent targets as well.
  • Posterior Precedence (Technique) – Gains the Ward effect for 20 seconds. When entering combat by attacking or receiving an attack, immediately inflicts Intuit: Cull on a random enemy target and increases the DMG dealt by this attack by 80%.

Yunli is a five-star Physical character in the Path of The Destruction. Units in this Path specialize in dealing a lot of DMG to single targets and AoE (Area of Effect). All of Yunli’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail come from leaks, so we recommend taking them with a pinch of salt for now.

Yunli brings lots of fresh elements to the table, especially with a powerful skill that can heal her. This ability is based on Yunli’s ATK stat, so you should build her with that in mind.

Additionally, her kit suggests she’ll be able to gather a lot of Energy to launch two Ultimates in a row, similar to Argenti, who can gather Energy to unleash a more powerful attack.

Leaked Light Cone

As every five-star Honkai Star Rail character, Yunli will debut alongside her signature Light Cone, and here’s its leaked description:

Dance at Sunset

Greatly increases the odds that the wearer will be attacked, increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36%. After the wearer uses their Ultimate, they receive one stack of Firedance for two turns and up to two stacks. Each stack of Firedance increases the DMG dealt by the wearer’s follow-up attack by 36%.

Yunli’s Light Cone works perfectly with her kit, as it enhances most of her abilities. Of course, characters like Clara can also benefit from it, so keep that in mind.
