A potential map has been leaked for the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, and this has been compared to Los Santos from GTA V so that players know how large it will be.

Grand Theft Auto V took the world by storm when it first released, and sold 140 million copies globally. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating any updates regarding the sixth entry in Rockstar’s popular game series.

Recently, a ‘leaked’ Vice City map resurfaced, and led to speculation about GTA 6’s setting. A few fans have compared this to Los Santos from GTA V to better understand the scope and scale of the new area.

This map was originally leaked in 2018, but the image lacked key features, casting doubt about its legitimacy. Now, it has returned with more details, and Reddit user Blue_Grapefruit has compared it to Los Santos.

The new area appears to be a small island that borders the main landmass off the southeast coast. Fans have noted that the new map seems slightly smaller than Los Santos in terms of size, which has caused a stir.

While this may seem disappointing on first glance, Rockstar have a record of making their game worlds incredibly detailed, and filling them with various activities to make them more lifelike.

Keep in mind that this is still just a leak, so you should take this information with a grain of salt until Rockstar announce something official. That said, this could still be a potential first look at what’s planned for GTA 6.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s map was leaked ahead of the game’s release, and fans were quick to criticize that as well. However, the game and its world ended up receiving wide acclaim, so that could be the case here.

With the company set to appear at E3 2021 in June, and job listings claiming the game may be close to completion, we might get more information soon enough.
