How Call of Duty Weapon Progression system has changed

Published

on

Call of Duty Weapon Progression system has changed ever since Modern Warfare 3 was out. All games before that had the basic system of getting x kills gives you x attachments. Let’s take a look at how the system has changed over the years.

Modern Warfare 1 through Modern Warfare 2:

For all these Call of Duty games, the weapon progression system was similar. You had to get “X” number of kills with a certain weapon to unlock “X” attachment for the weapons. In order to unlock camos you had to get “x” amount of head shots.

Black Ops 1:

For Black Ops 1, Treyrach added the COD Points where you had to buy attachments for guns. You don’t have to use challenges.

Modern Warfare 3

In Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward added the ability for guns to have their own leveling system. Every gun had a highest level of 31. Getting kills with the weapons would help progress the weapons levels, and with each level you got new attachments and camos. And, in MW3, they added the new Weapon proficiencies. These added abilities for your gun to have less sway, better aim, etc.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

With Black Ops 2 Treyarch brought back the leveling system for weapons, however they varied it slightly. The game only used the leveling system to unlock attachments. Camos still require head shots and other challenges to unlock. Each gun had a different number of levels.

What system do you want to see in Call of Duty: Ghosts? Something completely new or the original style?

Warzone players call for devs to add permanent Rebirth Island playlists

Rebirth Island has become a popular map for Warzone players, but the community is calling for permanent playlists like Verdansk.

Warzone Rebirth Island

Rebirth Island is one of the maps Call of Duty: Warzone can battle on, but players have begun to call for the developers of the battle royale to make permanent playlists for the popular map.

The integration between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone saw Rebirth Island become a playable map for the Call of Duty battle royale.

It has become a popular pick for players as of late, as many community members enjoy Rebirth Island’s faster pace and action-packed nature.

However, a major point of frustration for players has been the lack of permanent playlists for Rebirth Island, as the game’s developers consistently change the available playlists instead of having a static set in the same way that Verdansk does.

The discussion around the desire for Raven Software to implement permanent playlists to Warzone for Rebirth Island was thrust into the spotlight when the most recent playlist update for the battle royale took away Resurgence Quads and replaced it with Resurgence Trios.

Community member LegionofGrixis took to the official subreddit for Warzone and started a thread where they stated their frustration over the fact that the developers constantly change the Rebirth Island playlists and how Trios are less favored by many Warzone players compared to Quads.

This sentiment was shared by popular Warzone content creator JGOD who had a simple statement on the topic.

There is no doubt that players who primarily play on Rebirth Island would be excited to see a permanent set of playlists that do not ever change be added to the Black Ops Cold War map.

It remains to be seen if the developers of the Call of Duty battle royale will ever implement this feature, but we will be sure to inform you and update this piece if permanent playlists are added to the Rebirth Island map for Warzone.

According to a report by DualSHOCKERS, rumors of a GTA Online ban wave happening in July 2021 started thanks to videos circulating on TikTok.

These rumors have stated that players who utilized frozen money, save wizard, or car duplication glitch exploits will be targeted by this rumored massive wave of bans by Rockstar Games.

However, Rockstar Games has not made any official announcements regarding a potential GTA Online ban wave happening in July 2021.

There have been plenty of false rumors spread around on TikTok in the video game community, so it would not be surprising to see that the rumors of a GTA Online ban wave happening in July 2021 be confirmed to be false in the near future.

However, the exploits that these rumors have focused on do fall under what Rockstar Games has stated it will ban players for when it comes to abusing game mechanics, so it would not be unfathomable that players who have utilized these exploits could be targeted by this rumored wave of bans.

As with any piece of unconfirmed information, it is important to take this rumor of a ban wave happening in July 2021 with a grain of salt.

The theme of the Apex Legends Emergence launch trailer focused on change and how all of the characters in the game have evolved over their lives, with Seer being the main focus as expected.

In typical launch trailer fashion for Apex Legends, the Emergence video showed off the new character of Seer using his abilities to take down his enemies.

These abilities revolve around a set of microdrones that he keeps contained in a piece of equipment attached to his chest.

You can check out Seer using his abilities in the Apex Legends Emergence launch trailer below:

Following the trailer’s premiere at EA Play Live 2021, which also showcased the new Battlefield Portal game mode for Battlefield 2042, Apex Legends Game Director Chad Griener took the stage and explained some more details regarding the abilities of Seer.

According to Greiner, Seer is similar to Bloodhound in that his abilities focus on tracking enemies. Players will find that a heartbeat sensor will appear when they aim down the sights of their weapons when playing as Seer, which will help them find enemies near them.

Seer’s tactical ability will allow him to send out a fleet of microdrones from his chest to track down enemy players, while his ultimate ability will see Seer create a giant sphere with his drones that sense enemies who go through it.

There is no doubt that plenty of players will be excited to try out all of the Seer abilities shown off in the adrenaline-fueled Apex Legends Emergence launch trailer.
