Activision aims to crack down on CoD: Warzone’s cheaters and hackers with the kernel-level RICOCHET anti-cheat system, so how many have they managed to ban so far?

Warzone has remained one of Call of Duty’s most successful titles with its impressive numbers and projected longevity, but it’s hard to ignore the issue of cheaters and hackers ruining matches for players.

Raven Software implemented the RICOCHET anti-cheat system to counter this problem, and they continually roll out large-scale bans for those found to be guilty of cheating, but just how many have been banned so far?

How many Warzone cheaters have been banned?

On March 19, the Call of Duty Twitter account revealed that a total of 90,000 accounts were removed in ban waves, bringing the total up to at least 940,000 CoD: Warzone accounts banned.

Activision introduced the RICOCHET anti-cheat with the launch of Warzone Pacific, and it has shown promising results with many cheaters’ hacks being rendered useless after its arrival in the game.

Warzone’s RICOCHET anti-cheat is designed to “assist in the identification of cheaters, reinforcing and strengthening the overall server security” by checking “software and applications that attempt to interact and manipulate Warzone, providing the security team more data to boost security.”

It will likely be an ongoing battle for Activision as cheaters will always manage to slip through the cracks. However, it’s reassuring to know that the developers are cracking down on hackers and aim botters.
