How to avoid fall stuns in Apex Legends

You can use an easy Apex Legends trick in order to cancel the effects of fall stun and preserve your momentum.

Apex Legends’ fall stun can ruin your momentum while dropping and put you at a disadvantage during battle. This simple trick can help you avoid this so that you can break the fall, and surprise your enemies.

When falling from a great height in Apex Legends, a stun will be applied to your Legend that will cause them to stop before hitting the ground. This feature keeps you from taking fall damage, but can leave you vulnerable to enemy attacks.

When the battle royale first came out in 2019, there was a trick to cancel the stun by meleeing the ground until Respawn removed it. Although you can’t make use of that technique anymore, there’s still a way to avoid fall stuns in Apex Legends.

How to avoid Apex Legends’ fall stun

In order to preserve your momentum, you can cancel the stun by using the melee attack to hit a wall or any other vertical surface on your way down. This will break your fall without stopping you in the air.

This technique is just as efficient as the one that players used in Season One before Respawn patched it up. Just kick in the air while you’re on your way down and you’ll get it done as soon as your melee makes contact with the surface.

Apex players have a knack for discovering cool new tricks while playing, and you can see this one in action in a clip from Reddit user Toyo0821.

Despite having the Season One mechanic removed, a few veteran players still attempt to punch the ground in the hopes that it will still get the job done. Apparently, a few players have had luck getting that technique to work even after the patch.

“The punch ground tech actually still works, although I’m unsure under what circumstances exactly,” one player noted. “Did it a few times in Oasis not being horizon but prolly only once out of every 50 tries. Still trying to figure out if it was something with angle or timing.”

Regardless of which method you use, keeping your momentum while falling from great heights can prove useful in surprising enemies, as well as keeping you moving. So it’s absolutely worth trying this trick in the midst of battle.

New game modes coming to Apex Legends

A brand new leak has revealed some more game modes that might be making their way to Apex Legends in Season 8. This includes the long-awaited Ranked Solos mode and a new version of Kings Canyon.

Apex Legends Season 8 is almost here, which means that there’s a ton of exciting new content to look forward to. We might see a brand new Legend join the roster, some improvements for existing characters, and even new LTMs.

The battle royale has seen its share of different game modes over its Seasons, and the recent Fight Night Collection Event brought the Airdrop Escalation LTM. Now some new leaks are suggesting that the devs are planning to change things up even more.

According to these leaks, Respawn Entertainment will be introducing Ranked Solos and brand new game modes in an upcoming update. Here’s everything we know so far.

Airdrop Escalation LTM in Apex Legends

Is there a Ranked Solo mode in Apex Legends Season 8?

This leak came from data-miner SomeoneWhoLeaks,  who posted images of someone testing out a few new game modes on January 14. These are planned to be revealed to fans when Season 8 of the battle royale goes live.

We see appearances from the Arenas Team Deathmatch mode, along with one titled “Anniversary Event Kings Canyon.” The leak also shows off some game modes called “Locked and Loaded” and “Death Trigger.”

Looking closely, we can also spot a reference to a Ranked Solos mode. This stands out from the others as it is labeled with “#PL_Ranked_Leagues_solo!”

This is something that will greatly please Apex fans since they’ve been asking for a Ranked Solos mode for quite some time now. The devs have made it clear that they don’t consider these to be “healthy” for the game, so they wouldn’t be implementing them anytime soon.

Keep in mind that these are still just rumors that have yet to be confirmed by Respawn themselves, so take them with a grain of salt. They even stood by their position on this topic on January 8, stating that Ranked Solos will not be added to the battle royale.

It’s possible that this mode is just being tested to assess data before releasing the new season. We’ll keep checking for updates, and will update you once we learn more.

Apex Legends leak gives first look at Fuse’s Ultimate ability

With Apex Legends Season 8 just around the corner, some leaks have shown off potential new Legend Fuse’s Ultimate ability.

Apex Legends season 8

With Apex Legends Season 8 arriving soon, there has been a lot of speculation about a potential new character named Fuse joining the roster. Some new leaks have given us a first look at the Legend’s Ultimate ability.

Apex Legends Season 7 is almost over and the next big update is just around the corner. There are rumors about a potential Season 8 Legend named Fuse. Plus some new leaks have surfaced that show the abilities of this character.

While Fuse’s arrival in Season 8 has yet to be confirmed, many rumors are suggesting that their abilities will revolve around explosives. Now some new leaks have teased what might be the new Legend’s Ultimate ability.

Fuse’s Ultimate ability leaked for Apex Legends Season 8

This leak came in the form of a video from data-miner SomeoneWhoLeaks, which shows off an explosive attack that was formerly called ‘Firebomb.’ The leaker describes it as “shooting some fish in a barrel.”

The clip features an undetonated explosive, which takes about 55 damage to detonate. While ‘Firebomb’ was a title also given to another leaked ability, it’s understandable why the devs chose to use it for this attack, due to the ring of fire left behind after the explosion.

Rumors suggest that Fuse’s Ultimate ability will be shown off in the next in-game teaser in order to create excitement for the Legend’s debut. This lines up with how they hyped Octane and Horizon before their own arrivals.

When Season 7 was starting off, Respawn formed a ton of excitement among fans for Horizon’s introduction by scattering her Gravity Lifts throughout the Arena. So they’re going to do something similar for Fuse.

As mentioned in the tweet, the teaser will go live on Saturday, January 16, and you will be able to check it out while playing Apex Legends. The devs will drop Fuse’s bombs in rings 5 and 6. You’ll have to avoid getting caught in the blast.

The data-miner also mentioned a few more exciting details about the Ultimate ability. Apparently, the explosion is capable of dealing 70 damage to anyone caught in it, while the fire will chip away 60 HP.

This means that you can use this ability to dish out a total of 130 damage to your opponents. While that can end badly for you if you find yourself within the explosion’s radius, it still sounds like a fun new obstacle.

Fuse will hopefully end up being an impressive new addition to the Apex Legends roster that will win over fans like Horizon did. We’ll be sure to update you once we learn more.

Apex Legends Horizon trick lets you easily counter door-campers

There is a neat Apex Legends trick that you can use when playing as Horizon to outplay door campers in a match.

Horizon in Apex Legends

Encountering enemies that camp behind doors can be irritating when playing Apex Legends, but you can make use of a clever trick involving Horizon’s Black Hole ultimate to lure them out and attack them.

Horizon has become a fan favorite ever since her addition to Apex Legends at the start of Season 7. Her unique abilities have made her a powerhouse with a huge record of wins, to the point that Respawn Entertainment is planning to nerf her.

She can reverse or control gravity, and her Ultimate ability allows her to open up a Black Hole during combat. This can prove useful in the midst of battle, as you can use a neat little trick to attack enemies that camp behind doors.

Horizon Ult trick to counter door campers in Apex Legends

One common tactic used by Apex Legends players is to hide behind doors and keep an eye out for enemies. This lets you catch your foes by surprise when they enter a room, and grants you time to heal or revive a teammate.

Of course, it’s far less fun to be picked off by your enemies who are door camping. Luckily, you can use Horizon’s Black Hole to counter this tactic, as shown in a clip posted by Reddit user friarface in the Apex University subreddit.

Horizon attacks the door camper with her Ultimate ability, and the Black Hole begins to pull them out of their hiding spots behind the door. She then hits them with a few Thermite grenades to dish out some additional punishment.

This is an incredibly useful trick for making sure that your enemies don’t get the time to heal or revive a teammate that you shot down. In case you’re planning to use a door for cover, make sure that Horizon isn’t close by.

The Legend’s passive abilities are also powerful, so it’s clear why she’s a popular pick for Apex fans. With Respawn planning to nerf her soon, you should try out this trick in a match before it gets patched out.

Apex Legends Season 7’s Battle Pass will expire on February 1, so Season 8 will start soon afterward. We’re excited to learn what the devs have planned for Horizon in the future, and we’ll be sure to update you once we learn more.
