If you’re not happy with your current username in Fortnite then you’re in luck, since Epic Games have made the process of changing it completely free and easy on PC. Here’s how you can get it done.
When making an account in any online game, you’ll get the opportunity to pick your own unique username that your friends can find you through. Epic Games’ battle royale Fortnite is no exception to this.
However, you might end up disliking the username you first picked and will want to change it. Luckily, Fortnite is unlike other online games since you won’t have to use a complicated or expensive method to get this done.
How to change your Fortnite username on PC
Epic Games made the name-changing process in Fortnite completely free of charge on PC, and it’s fairly straightforward as well. The only downside is that you can’t do it more than once ever two weeks, so you’ll have to pick wisely.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Visit the Epic Games website here and click “Sign in” in the top right-hand corner
- Sign in to your account
- Hover over your username in the top right corner and click “Account”
- Under “Account Info” click blue pen icon next to your current username
- Type in your new username and hit “Confirm”
That’s all you need to do in order to change your username in Fortnite. If you followed these instructions correctly, then you’ll then see a green notification at the top of your screen that says “Name updated,” confirming the change.
Changing your Fortnite username on Xbox One, PS4 and PS5
This process is a bit different if you play Fornite on a Xbox One, since your username is tied to your Gamertag. Meaning that if you want to change it in the battle royale, then you’ll have to alter your overall profile name.
Here’s how you can changer your Fortnite username on the Xbox One:
- Hold down the Xbox button on your controller
- Head over to Profile and System, then select your current Gamertag
- Choose My Profile, then select Customize Profile
- Type in your new Gamertag under the Choose new Gamertag tab
Unfortunately, this method isn’t free as with the PC, as you’ll have to spend a bit of cash. Alternatively, you can change it by logging into your Microsoft account on your browser. Just remember that your Gamertag will be your name on other online games too.
Similarly, you can change it on the PS4 or PS5 by altering your PSN name:
- Head over to Settings from the PlayStation home screen
- Select Account Management and then open up Account Information
- Scroll down and then select Profile to choose your Online ID.
- Click I Accept on the pop up window that appears and enter your new Online ID here
- Click Confirm and leave the screen to see your new username
That’s all there is to it, and as with the Xbox One, your username will change across all of your online games when you do this. You can also change it from your browser by heading over to your PlayStation Network Account.
We hope that this guide has been helpful to you in changing your username on Fortnite. Since you can only do this every 2 weeks, you should make sure that you pick one that you’ll want to stick with.

Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z crossover event: Release date, skins, leaks & rumors
A Dragon Ball Z crossover is coming to Fortnite, and here’s everything we know about it, including the annouced release date.
Epic Games are bringing cosmetic items and outfits from the Dragon Ball Z series to Fortnite, and here’s everything we know about this crossover, including the release date and leaks.
The recent Naruto crossover added new anime skins to the battle royale title, and Epic Games now have plans to bring even more fan-favorite anime characters. We’ll go over everything we know about the Fortnite and Dragon Ball Z crossover.
- Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z crossover release date
- Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z leaked skins
- Leaked Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z Kamehameha Mythic
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z crossover release date
Epic have confirmed that the Fortnite and Dragon Ball Z crossover is set to release on Tuesday, August 16, just 3 days before the release of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie.
This makes sense as Epic Games have previously released cosmetic sets for Uncharted and Doctor Strange around the times their respective movies were released in theaters.
Well-known Fortnite leaker Shiina has also claimed that we could see a Dragon Ball Battle Bus similar to the one in the Naruto crossover.
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z crossover leaked skins
Although we know that the Dragon Ball crossover is arriving on August 16, there is still no word yet on what new cosmetics will be on offer.
On July 18, HYPEX tweeted that the Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z collaboration will feature 4 different skins, claiming that Goku, Vegeta & Beerus are confirmed to arrive in the battle royale title.
The leaker then added that while the fourth skin is currently unknown, it will most likely be a female character like Bulma. Players might be able to unlock these outfits by completing tasks similar to the Nindo challenges in the Naruto Rivals event.
Leaked Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z Kamehameha Mythic
A few leaks also suggest that the Dragon Ball Z collaboration will bring a brand-new Kamehameha Mythic weapon to Fortnite. While it’s unclear how this will function, it will most likely let you fire power blasts at your enemies.
It’s worth keeping in mind that these are currently just leaks, and this information has not been confirmed by the developers themselves. We’ll keep checking for any official announcements on what will be included in the DBZ crossover in Fortnite.
