How to check your Warzone lobby difficulty in Season 5

A useful Call of Duty stats website gives players the ability to see the K/D of their Warzone lobbies. Here’s how you can check how tough your lobbies are in Season 5.

Skill-based matchmaking or SBMM in Call of Duty is an algorithm that triggers when you search for games in Warzone. This places you against other players of similar skill, but many find the system frustrating as there are claims that it favors SBMM over connection.

Many players are confused about where they rank when compared against the rest of the world. You can look at your kill to death (K/D) ratio, but there’s no official way of telling your skill rating in CoD’s algorithm, and many players are left to merely guess where they appear on the skill totem poll.

However, you can take a look at COD Tracker and see exactly how difficult your Warzone lobbies are.

COD Tracker takes a look at every player in your lobby and tells you exactly how tough your Warzone lobby is. You can also take a look at every player in the lobby and see their K/D ratio.

Here’s how to check your Warzone lobbies K/D:

  1. Visit CODTracker.com
  2. Enter your Activison, Battle.net, Xbox, or PlayStation username
  3. Click on the ‘View All Matches’ button
  4. Select the game mode you wish to view
  5. Look at the ‘Lobby K/D’ section
  6. Check how your K/D stacks up against the rest of the lobby

What’s an average Warzone lobby K/D?

The average Warzone K/D is around 0.92, so the average lobby strength shouldn’t stray too far from this number. However, with skill-based matchmaking in play, the lobby strength will differ slightly depending on your own K/D.

Players with a K/D of around or below average will be matched up against players with a similar K/D, with lobby strengths usually landing anywhere between 0.8 and 1.0.

Players with above-average K/Ds such as 1.5 to 2.0 will get lobbies averaging around 1.1 to 1.4. There will still be some lower-skilled players in the game, but the odd higher K/D player will significantly bump this number up.

Warzone has a much harder job trying to balance lobbies for high-level players with 3 K/Ds and above. It would take ages to find lobbies made up entirely of players of their skill level, so it’s believed that the matchmaking prioritizes filling up lobbies, so the K/D is often more mixed.

How to find lower K/D Warzone lobbies

There are some nefarious ways to find lower K/D Warzone lobbies such as reverse boosting or VPNs, but YouTuber JGOD has previously described how to legitimately find easier matches.

He explained that “Skill-based matchmaking is at its strictest between 8 PM and 2 AM, and it’s toned down significantly between 3 AM and 7 AM local time,” JGOD describes. So, if you’re playing during peak hours, the game will be much more difficult.

You’ll often find that playing in the morning will grant much lower K/D lobbies because there aren’t enough players online to properly implement a strict SBMM.

That’s everything you need to know about checking your lobbies’ K/D ratio!
