How to check your skill-based matchmaking rank in Warzone Season 2

Want to find out how you rank up in the skill-based matchmaking system during Warzone Season 2? Here’s how to find out.

Published

on

A useful community-made website has given players the ability to see their skill-based matchmaking rank for Warzone games. Here’s how you can check it during Season 2.

Skill-based matchmaking or SBMM in Call of Duty is an algorithm that runs when you search for games in Warzone. This places you against other players of similar skill. Many players will never notice the existence of this system.

However, many top players are confused about where they rank when compared against the rest of the world. Since Warzone doesn’t have skill ratings available for players to view themselves, many players are left to merely guess where they appear on the skill totem poll.

That is, until now, thanks to website, SBMMWarzone.

Warzone Season 2

The website takes the average K/D ratios of the lobby you are currently in and rates it against a database of over 1 million other games. The difficulty rating is calculated by comparing your games to the database.

It works similar to COD Tracker, where it tracks your Warzone games and stats. However, it has a neat feature where it shows the skill bracket of the games you appear in.

As you can see from the sample screenshot below, the difficulty of the lobby is considered “Diamond 2,” one level under the hardest difficulty, Diamond 1.

If you’re curious about the ranks of your games, you can hop over to the site and enter your Activision ID, Xbox/PlayStation Tag, or Battle.Net tag. You’ll be able to see the ranks of your most recent games. Some may differ in ranks due to the matchmaking system constantly adapting to your performance.

For top-level players, you may notice a slight variation in games (Diamond/Gold, occasionally Silver), due to matchmaking prioritizing getting players into games quickly. There aren’t enough top-level players to consistently fill a 150 player lobby with a short wait time, so it may occasionally give out more mixed games.

Warzone players call for Payload game mode to get major changes

Warzone’s latest game mode, Payload, introduces a fun new way to play. However, it seems players have some issues with how it operates.

Warzone Payload issues

Warzone’s latest game mode, Payload, has officially launched as the battle royale’s first team-based objective mode, but there are some things that players aren’t too happy with.

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded has revitalized the game with a new patch adding some weapons like the OTs 9 and even various weapon buffs and nerfs to keep the game fresh.

As well as this, Season 4 Reloaded has also seen a new team-based game mode called Payload, which some players have already found some issues with.

Warzone Season 4 Payload mode

Introduced on July 22 as a new way to play Warzone, the new mode features a similar format to the Payload objective in Overwatch.

For those who are not familiar, the mode requires two teams, one attacking and one defending. In Warzone’s case, there is a total of 40 players in the match, 20 per team.

Warzone Payload mode

The attacking team must escourt a vehicle towards a final location, while the defending team will try their best to stop them through constructing obstacles and taking out enemies.

Although this sounds great to some, there are glaring issues with the mode players would like addressed, especially as the mode is a great break from battle royale and a good mode for leveling up your weapons, especially as players can respawn on death.

Reddit user surazalazarus brought the issue upon a post entitled “the new Payload game mode is terrible,” a fairly radical opinion, so what’s the issue?

Essentially, the issue is that players are unable to mute squad members. With teams of 20, that can be quite frustrating as you can end up being distracting and bombarded with players communicating.

Further, the more glaring issue is that there is no in-match joining, which means one team could be left at a severe disadvantage if players start leaving the game.

This is an issue that Raven Software will most likely try and fix soon, as the new mode does offer a fun new way to play the game, with even surazalazarus saying it’s an “interesting idea” regardless of the previous comment calling it “terrible.”

Clearly, there is something here for Payload in Warzone, so hopefully, the developers can tune these issues and make the quality of life better for this specific mode so that players can enjoy it while it is in the game.

Best Kar98k loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 4

The Kar98k is considered to be one of the best loadout choices in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, so use this class to maximize your sniping talents.

best warzone kar98k loadout

The Kar98k is arguably the best Marksman Rifle in Warzone, and this loadout class will allow you to be competent when it comes to long-range sniping and close-range quick-scoping in Season 4.

Warzone has separated Sniper Rifles and Marksman Rifles into different categories. Sniper Rifles, such as the AX-50 and LW3 Tundra, are heavier and designed for range in Warzone. The Marksman Rifles are lighter and more versatile but don’t pack as much punch.

The Kar98k Marksman Rifle comes with high bullet velocity, one-shot headshots, and excellent mobility. It’s so powerful that players have asked for it to be nerfed. It’s a great pick for long-range encounters.

Here are the attachments and perks to run to make the best Warzone Kar98k loadout class during Season 4 Reloaded.

Best Warzone Kar98k loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ Barrel
  • Optic: Sniper Scope (Crossthread Reticle)
  • Stock: FTAC Sport Comb
  • Perk: Focus

This Kar98k improves upon the weapon’s range and bullet velocity potential while maintaining speed. As a result, you’ll be capable of taking down targets with a single headshot from any range and will get to quick-scope easily.

We’ll start with the best Warzone Kar98k loadout Monolithic Suppressor and the Singuard Custom 27.6″ to increase its effective damage range along with bullet velocity. You won’t have to worry about lead or bullet drop, so aim for the head.

However, these attachments will slow the weapon down. The FTAC Sport Comb stock will compensate for this by speeding up ADS time and mobility. This way, you won’t be left vulnerable to enemy snipers for too long.

The 7x magnification of the Sniper Scope suits almost any range in Verdansk. The Sniper Scope comes with an arrow-shaped reticle as default, but after getting 200 kills using the Sniper Scope on any weapon, you will unlock the Crossthread reticle.

Finally, we’ll cap off the best Warzone Kar98k loadout with the Focus perk that reduces the flinch when you get shot, allowing you to hit accurate shots even when an enemy is firing at you.

Best perks to use with Warzone Kar98k class

best warzone kar98k perks
  • Perk 1: Double Time
  • Perk 2: Overkill / Ghost
  • Perk 3: Tracker

Double Time will increase your Tactical Sprint duration as well as increasing your speed while sprinting. While sniping, repositioning between shots is vital. Sprint around and keep your enemy guessing where you’ll appear from, and you’ll find sniper fights much easier.

We strongly recommend paring an Assault Rifle or SMG with the Kar98k for close-range encounters. Overkill will allow you to take two primary weapons from your first loadout. Then you can hide from the radar with Ghost from your next loadout.

Finally, you should pick Amped as it allows you to change to your secondary weapon almost instantly, further increasing your speed on the map.

How to Unlock the Kar98k

Players who have not yet added this rifle to their inventory can do so by reaching level 33 in either Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or Warzone.

Once you have reached level 33, you will have the ability to equip this marksman rifle and begin to level it up to make the best Warzone Kar98k loadout.

Best Alternatives

If you’re looking for a great alternative to the Kar98k Marksman Rifle, then you should definitely try out the new Swiss K31 Sniper Rifle. It’s got great bullet velocity, incredibly fast ADS, and a decent scope.

If you’re looking for more great weapons, then you can check out some of this season’s best loadouts below.

UK rapper Dave drops new song dedicated to Warzone’s Verdansk

Warzone’s coverage has escalated to new heights as UK rapper Dave has released a new song about Call of Duty’s battle royale map – Verdansk.

Hit UK rapper Dave has dropped his second album, We’re All Alone in This Together, and one of the songs has caught the eye as “Verdansk” appears to be a direct tribute to Warzone – Call of Duty’s battle royale behemoth.

David Orobosa Omoregie, better known as Dave, has released his second album this week entitled “We’re All Alone in This Together.” It looks to bring more of the flair and creativity that shot the rapper to success in 2019 with the release of his debut album “Psychodrama.”

Fast forward to 2021, and Dave is in the headlines once more with his latest release, and amidst all the tunes on the record, “Verdansk” has been singled out amongst CoD fans.

Dave's new song, Verdansk

It’s not weird for celebrities to like video games, far from it in fact. Evidently, this seems to be the case for Dave as he’s celebrated Activision’s phenomenon – Call of Duty: Warzone.

The 2nd song off of his new album clocks in at 3 minutes and 2 seconds, and the lyrics talk about third-partying in Warzone and its different locations: “Airport, we’re going for bants, I hopped out the plane, I ain’t going to Verdnask.”

It’s interesting to see Warzone’s presence translate to the music scene, and Dave is the sort of name that can help bring even more attention to the game.

The album’s lead single “Clash” is a collaboration with worldwide rap sensation Stormzy, who himself is a big gamer and played a part in Ubisoft’s 2020 Watch Dogs: Legion.

It’s also not the first time that Dave has made reference to video games in the past as his 2016 song “Six Paths” talked about Tekken: “Your guys will hide in the mist if my brother’s put iron in fist like Kazuya.”

It will be a nice bit of publicity for Warzone, and will likewise attract some interest to the rising UK rapper.
