How to get Destiny 2 Bright Dust
Bright Dust is essential for purchasing Exotic cosmetics in Destiny 2. Here is every possible way to earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2.
If you want to change the look of your gear, you’re going to need some Bright Dust. Here’s every way you can obtain Destiny 2 Bright Dust.
There are many currencies in Destiny 2, and they can be pretty challenging to keep up with when playing. Each currency has a specific use and can only be spent at certain stores. And each one of these stores only sells a particular type of item.
Bright Dust is one of Destiny 2’s various currencies, and it’s also one of the most important. No, it can’t be used to buy Exotic armor or weapons. Bright Dust can’t be spent on anything that will increase your power level, either.
But what it can do is purchase cosmetic items to make your character look cooler. At this point in Destiny 2, if you aren’t rocking Exotic ornaments or cosmetic armor, you’re on the bottom of the player totem poll. Here’s how you can get Bright Dust in Destiny 2 to spend at the Eververse store.
Every way to get Bright Dust in Destiny 2
Below is a list of all the ways to earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2. Players can spend Bright Dust on cosmetic items in the Eververse Store. Players will need a large amount of Bright Dust if they want their gear to look the best.
- Free Season Pass Ranks – 7,500 Bright Dust
- Paid Season Pass Ranks – 10,500 Bright Dust
- Seasonal Challenges – 75 – 300 Bright Dust
- Gifts of Bright Dust – 250-1,000 Bright Dust
- Vendor Challenges – 120 Bright Dust
- Repeatable Bounties – 10 Bright Dust
Bright Dust from Season Pass Ranks
Progressing the Season Pass is a great way to earn Bright Dust. Both the paid and free versions of the Season Pass offer a large amount of Bright Dust. However, it can take a bit of time to earn all 100 ranks.
Regardless, progressing the Battle Pass is very rewarding. Paid Battle Pass owners can earn 10,500 Bright Dust, while free players can earn 7,500 Bright Dust. As well, players can earn Bright Engrams, which also have a chance to drop Bright Dust.
Bright Dust from Seasonal Challenges
A faster but more demanding way to earn Bright Dust is by completing Seasonal Challenges. These challenges last until the end of a Destiny 2 Season, and they can reward players with 70 to 300 Bright Dust per challenge.
Completing all Seasonal Challenges will reward the player with a total of 10,000 Bright Dust. While the amount of Bright Dust you will earn isn’t specified on the challenge page, there is still a way to determine how much you will earn.
If a challenge offers x2 Extra Large XP, you will earn 75 Bright Dust. If it provides x4 Extra Large XP, you will make 150 Bright Dust. And if it offers x8 Extra Large XP, you will earn 300 Bright Dust.
Dust from Bright Engrams
This is the least reliable method of getting Bright Dust, but you’re going to be collecting Bright Engrams while playing anyway. Players will earn Bright Engrams randomly while playing Destiny 2. They can be found inside the Character’s Engram Inventory.

Among various cosmetic items that can be dropped from Bright Engrams, they can also drop Gifts of Bright Dust. These rare drops come in three different sizes and have a slight chance of dropping. The sizes and amounts of Bright Dust are as follows:
- Small Gift of Bright Dust – 250 BD
- Medium Gift of Bright Dust – 500 BD
- Huge Gift of Bright Dust – 1,000 BD
Bright Engrams can be opened at The Eververse Store.
Destiny 2 Bright Dust from Vendor Challenges
Completing Vendor Challenges to earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2 is a more time-consuming task. Plus, these challenges can only be completed once a week. However, they are still a reliable method of obtaining a decent amount of Bright Dust.
Players will need to visit Zavala, Shaxx, and the Drifter, each of their weekly challenges. These challenges require players to complete 8 bounties in their activity. Each challenge tier will reward the player with 120 Bright Dust.
Since there are three tiers per challenge, players can earn 360 Bright Dust per Vendor per week. Completing all nine challenge tiers will reward players with 1,080 Bright Dust.
Destiny 2 Bright Dust from Repeatable Bounties
This is by far the grindiest yet most reliable method of obtaining Bright Dust. And since you’re going to be completing bounties for the Weekly Vendor Challenges, you might as well earn a small amount of Bright Dust at the same time.
Each Vendor (Zavala, Shaxx, and the Drifter) has repeatable bounties that offer a small amount of XP and 10 Bright Dust. This is a minuscule amount of Bright Dust, but you can participate in these bounties an infinite number of times.
Completing bounties will also increase your rank with that Vendor and will progress the Season Pass. So, while this method of getting Bright Dust in Destiny 2 is a major grind, it also helps players progress multiple game factors.
For now, that’s every way you can earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2. So get out there and grind for some shiny new pants.

Where is Spider in Destiny 2? Season of the Lost location
Spider is still available to visit in Destiny 2: Season of the Lost, so here’s the location where you can find him to take on Bounties and more.
Although we’re now well into Destiny 2 Season of the Lost, you can still visit Spider to accept Bounties and find loot, so here is Spider’s location.
Destiny 2 Season of the Lost is now in full swing, offering players a ton of new content such as Trials of Osiris rewards, Ager’s Scepter, its Catalyst, and more. In Season of the Lost’s story, Spider gets an ominous mention, so we may be seeing him again soon.
Even though he arrived in 2018’s Forsaken, this Fallen crime syndicate leader can still be found to offer Bounties, Wanted Bounties, and do a Material Exchange.
Here’s where to find Spider in Destiny 2: Season of the Lost.
Destiny 2 Spider location
You’ll be able to find the Destiny 2 Spider location in Thieves Landing on the Tangled Shore. He acts as the primary vendor for this area but can be pretty tricky to discover if you’ve never visited him before in Destiny 2.
To find the Destiny 2 Spider location, once you’ve landed at Thieves Landing on the Tangled Shore, you need to go straight ahead until you find a small set of stairs. Go up these stairs, then head left into the cave entrance. Hop over the wall and follow this round to the right, and then keep following this corridor.
You’ll eventually find Spider at the end of this corridor, sitting atop his throne with a guard on either side of him. From here, you can speak to him to begin Bounties, Wanted Bounties, or do a Material Exchange.
You can also reach him quicker by using your Sparrow. Although challenging, getting your Sparrow over the small wall is possible, allowing you to reach Spider in half the time.
