How to download Call of Duty: Warzone for Season 1

Liam Mackay

Black Ops Cold War x Warzone Season 1 launches December 15 at 11 PM PT, which brings a new map and over 30 new weapons to Warzone.

Warzone will integrate with Black Ops Cold War when Season 1 launches on December 15. All of the weapons and new Operators from Black Ops Cold War will be added to Warzone, and progression will be tied between the games. So, no matter what game you’re playing, your Call of Duty rank will increase.

However, Warzone will not become tied to Black Ops Cold War the way it currently is to Modern Warfare; it will still be a separate game and download.

If you currently have Warzone downloaded with Modern Warfare, you will receive an update for Warzone with the new map, Rebirth Island, and new content.

If you don’t currently have Warzone on your system, here’s how to install it on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

PlayStation

Installing Warzone on PlayStation is simple.

  1. Open the PlayStation store.
  2. Search for ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ and select it.
  3. Begin downloading Warzone.

You will be prompted to install Modern Warfare content packs, so simply deselect these to only install Warzone.

Xbox

Downloading Warzone on Xbox is much the same as PlayStation.

Switch on your Xbox, then follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store.
  2. Search for ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ and select it.
  3. Begin downloading Warzone.

Also similar to PlayStation, just deselect the Modern Warfare content packs to install Warzone by itself.

PC (Battle.net)

You need to have the Battle.net launcher installed on your PC to run Warzone. To install Warzone:

  1. Launch Battle.net
  2. Go to the Shop tab
  3. Type ‘Warzone’ in the search bar and select it
  4. Click Play For Free

Battle.net will then direct you to the Modern Warfare page, so simply click ‘install.’

Then, click ‘Modify Install’ and deselect the Modern Warfare content packs.
