Fortnite Gold Bars

Gold Bars are the currency in Fortnite and you can use them to purchase weapons, turn into a prop, and more. Here’s how to get Gold Bars in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Gold Bars are one of the most useful resources you can get your hands on in Fortnite. They’re relatively easy to gain and you get to keep them between matches.

You can hire NPCs, upgrade your weapons, and even become a prop by purchasing items from NPCs. Plus, you sometimes need to spend or gather certain amounts of Gold Bars for Weekly Quests and other challenges.

Here’s how to get Gold Bars in Fortnite and everything you can spend them on.

How to earn Gold Bars in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4

Fortnite Vault
Vaults hold a large amount of Gold Bars.

You can get Gold Bars in a plethora of ways in Fortnite, but some are more lucrative than others. Here’s every way to earn Gold in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Loot

The easiest, but not necessarily the most lucrative, method of earning Gold Bars is by simply looting around the island. Here are some examples of things you can break and loot for Gold in Fortnite Season 4:

  • Chests
  • Rare Chests
  • Heist Bags
  • Cash Registers
  • Safes
  • Beds
  • Sofas
  • Washing machines

As you gear up for the game ahead, make sure you’re breaking and interacting with these objects to get some extra Gold.

Vaults

There are currently six different Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4, and you’ll need to defeat a Boss NPC to get its Keycard. Vaults contain Chests, Rare Chests, Heist Bags, Safes, and even Sofas, so you’ll have many sources of Gold Bars to choose from. You’ll also find large stacks of Gold Bars you’ll need to destroy with your Pickaxe to get.

You can find Vaults in the following named locations:

  • Eclipsed Estate
  • Sanguine Suites
  • Relentless Retreat
  • Rumble Ruins
  • Slappy Shores
  • Mega City

Eliminate players

While looting is a big part of battle royale games, your ultimate goal is to be the last player standing. This means you’ll probably end up taking out a few players over the course of the match. Make sure to loot them afterward, as fallen players often drop around 8 Gold. One of Chapter 4 Season 4’s Weekly Quests asks players to collect 100 Bars from eliminated players, so you should keep this method in mind.

Complete Jobs

If you want to earn even more Gold Bars for eliminating players, then you can complete Jobs. The Job Board can give you one of three different tasks to complete in six minutes. If you’re successful, you’ll be awarded a pile of Gold.

NPCs no longer give bounties in Fortnite, so you’ll need to find Job Boards around the map. Here are the locations of all Job Boards in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4:

In addition to these methods, Fortnite players have found another way to farm Gold Bars with the new Shield Breaker EMP. There’s no confirmation yet whether this is an intended mechanic or a glitch, but you can learn more about this on our full article.

How to spend Gold in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4

Now you’ve got all of the Gold you need, you can start spending it. With the help of Fortnite.GG, here’s everything you can purchase with Gold Bars in Chapter 4 Season 4.

Upgrade weapons

While you can find all sorts of rare weapons by looting in Fortnite, sometimes it’s much better to upgrade the ones you get to get a quick advantage. Upgrade Benches are still around in Chapter 4 Season 4, and here are all their locations:

Upgrade Benches let you upgrade almost any weapon up to Legendary rarity.

Became a prop

If you’re a more stealthy Fortnite player who likes to hide in bushes, then turning into a prop is the next best thing. By approaching certain NPCs, you can spend Gold to turn into a random prop such as a barrel or trashcan.

Here’s which NPC can turn you into a Prop in Season 4:

  • Nolan Chance in Frenzy Fields

Keep in mind that you’ll need to complete Nolan Chance’s Snapshot Quests to unlock that service.

Purchase Rare or Exotic weapons

Every season ends up adding more NPCs near the end.

NPCs in Fortnite also sell Exotic weapons that can give you a major advantage over your opponents. They don’t come cheap, costing as much as 500 Gold, but can dish out some serious damage.

Here’s where you can purchase Exotic weapons in Chapter 4 Season 4.

  • Shadow Tracker Pistol: Purchased from Agent Peely on Steamy Springs
  • Heisted Accelerant Shotgun: Purchased from Love Ranger at Rumble Ruins

Alternatively, you can also purchase all kinds of weapons from Weapon-O-Matics. To know more about where to find these Vending Machines, check our full guide.

Hire characters

Some Fortnite NPCs are hireable, and in Chapter 4 Season 4, they can be great assets in battle. Hired characters won’t only follow you everywhere and fight enemies alongside you, but they can also provide healing, ammo, and even mark enemy players.

There are currently five hireable characters in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 and you can find them in the following locations:

Re-roll Reality Augments

Fortnite Chapter 4 introduced players to Reality Augments, unlockable perks that add some spice to every Fortnite match. With the first Storm Circles, players can choose between two random perks to gain an advantage. While players can re-roll these Augments once for free, they need to spend 100 Gold Bars to re-roll Augments again during the same match.

While some players don’t think it’s worth it, re-rolling can be very useful to get the Augment you’re specifically looking for.

Gold is an incredibly valuable resource in Fortnite, so save it and spend it well to score Victory Royales in Chapter 4 Season 4. For more on the battle royale, you can also check some of our other guides:
