Battlefield 2042 players that were eager to try out the new season soon found themselves locked out of the game because of the appearance of this error message, and this caught the attention of the developers.

EA’s Battlefield Direct Communication Twitter page responded to this issue and reassured players that they’re investigating this error. We’ll have to wait for them to implement a fix, but until they do, there are a few different workarounds that you can try.

Restart Battlefield 2042

The first solution that you can try to fix the “unable to load persistence data” bug in Battlefield 2042 is to restart the game. Simply close the Battlefield 2042 application and then wait for it to completely turn off.

Once that’s done, you can turn the game back on and see if that fixed the issue. If that doesn’t work, then you can also try restarting your PC or console.

Check your internet connection

Another way for you to get around this problem is to check your internet modem. If your connection isn’t working properly, then you may have to reset the modem in order to get rid of this error message.

Try turning your internet connection off and then back on to see if the problem has been resolved. You can also try connecting to a different router before logging into the game.
