Xbox Cold War players are reporting that their settings go back to default every time they launch the game, but one Reddit user claims to have found a simple solution to this frustrating Cold War settings reset glitch.

We’re nearing the mid-season update for Black Ops Cold War Season 5, which is set to bring the classic Zoo to the game, alongside the ‘The Numbers’ event.

However, a frustrating glitch has reportedly been forcing Xbox players to keep re-entering their settings every time they launch the game.

The Black Ops Cold War subreddit has been filled with reports that every time an Xbox player launches the game, their settings default, and they must manually enter them again. This is a time-consuming process, so players are looking for any way to fix the issue.

If you’re one of the Xbox players who has been hit by this glitch, don’t worry, as we’ve got the best graphics and controller settings for Black Ops Cold War.

But, Reddit user swaste2000 claims they have discovered a more permanent fix for the issue that “works 100%.” This involves disabling the ‘Cloud Saved Settings’ under the options tab.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Launch Black Ops Cold War
  2. Open up Settings
  3. Navigate over to the ‘Account & Network’ tab
  4. Set ‘Cloud Saved Settings’ to Disabled

According to Treyarch, enabled ‘Cloud Saved Settings’ will make it so that “All but hardware-related settings will be saved with your Activision Account. These settings will keep the same values on other platforms.”

Disabling this option will make it so that if reinstalling the game or moving to a new console, you’ll have to manually re-enter all of your settings, such as controller and audio.

If the devs issue a response to the bug, you should be safe to re-enable this setting and keep your preferences saved to your Activision account.

Although this problem has most commonly been reported on Xbox, this should also work if PlayStation and PC players are suffering from the same issue.
