Modern Warfare 2 players are running into a strange error message that says ‘no supported dxgi adapter found’ so here’s how you can quickly fix this problem and get back to the game.

Modern Warfare 2’s arrival on October 28 broke numerous player count and sales records, making it the most successful Call of Duty title launch in the popular shooter franchise’s history.

Here’s how you can fix the Modern Warfare 2 no supported dxgi adapter found error.

You can fix the no supported dxgi adapter found error by simply updating your graphics card drivers since this problem mainly occurs if your current drivers aren’t up-to-date with the latest available versions.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to the Nvidia website
  2. Select Drivers
  3. Enter the information about your operating system and current driver
  4. Select the correct driver and click Get Download

Using the Nvidia GeForce Experience software will automatically grant you the correct drivers after downloading updates. This will ensure that you don’t have to manually search for the correct ones.

If you don’t have an Nvidia GPU then you’ll have to use another dedicated software to update the drivers. You just need to search for your specific GPU’s drivers on the internet and you’ll find the link to download an update.

Once the drivers have been updated, you can launch Modern Warfare 2 and the no supported dxgi adapter found error should no longer be a problem. We recommend restarting your system first just to be sure.

At the time of writing, the developers haven’t come up with an official fix for the no supported dxgi adapter found error, but this solution will hopefully allow you to get back into the game.
