A frustrating glitch with Modern Warfare’s menu system is leaving players unable to change the reticles on their guns. Thankfully, we’ve got everything you need to work around the problem.
Having the right reticle on your weapons can be super important. Using sights like a Red Dot or Holographic can make it easier to target enemies, but the wrong reticle can make it an even bigger challenge than before.
Unfortunately, an annoying glitch with the Modern Warfare menu system is making it impossible to change them. When players select the option, it immediately launches them into the “Play” menu, and is affecting players on PC and PlayStation.
Modern Warfare reticle menu workaround
While this is incredibly frustrating, the good news is that there is a workaround for those struggling to change the reticle on their weapons.
Some players have managed to use the game’s Blueprint system to change their reticles, and while not ideal, does let players choose which one they want to use.
Affected players may want to try:
- Open Warzone, and go to the Weapon Gunsmiuth.
- Choose your optic, then select the reticle you want.
- Go back to the main Gunsmith screen, and create a new Weapon Modiciation.
- Once saved, go back to multiplayer and select the gun you modified.
While this is a lengthier process, it will allow you to make any changes to the reticle that you want.
The good news is that this issue has been added to Activision‘s “known issues” page, which means developers Infinity Ward are aware of it.
When the team will drop a fix for this problem remains unknown, but with around 2 million people playing the game daily, fans will be desperate to see this bug squashed in the near future. With major updates set to drop with Warzone Season 5, it’s possible the fix may come then.

How to fix frustrating Modern Warfare textures not loading glitch
Here’s a simple trick that you can use to fix the Modern Warfare glitch that prevents the game’s textures from loading.
Modern Warfare players are frustrated with a strange glitch that prevents textures from loading, but luckily there’s a way for you to get around this problem.
One issue that’s plaguing Modern Warfare players is a glitch that causes the game’s textures to not load properly. While this can be frustrating, there’s a simple trick that will let you fix the problem.
How to fix Modern Warfare textures not loading glitch
Reddit user ‘swoelie’ shared a screengrab in the Modern Warfare subreddit, and the image showed that the textures on the map’s ground didn’t properly load in. This problem is commonly faced by PS5 users.
One of the commenters then shared a solution to this problem, and it involves the On-demand Texture Streaming feature that allows you to stream higher resolution textures when playing Modern Warfare.
Here’s how you can fix the textures not loading glitch:
- Open Settings in Modern Warfare
- Go to the General tab
- Select Details & Textures
- Enable On-demand Texture Streaming
- Start a match
- Quit the game
- Disable On-demand Texture Streaming
The user made it clear that it doesn’t matter if your on-demand textures are already on or off, just follow these steps and your textures will load properly on your PS5 when you hop back into a match.
In the replies, other commenters reported that this method has been successful for them, and it’s one you should try out until the developers implement an official fix. However, if you turn off the game then you’ll have to do this again.

Classic Modern Warfare modes removed after Warzone update and players are furious
Modern Warfare players are furious after fan-favorite modes were removed following Warzone’s Season 4 Reloaded update.
The Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded update went live on July 27 and it’s had a knock-on effect with Modern Warfare. Fan-favorite game modes have disappeared and players are furious.
Modern Warfare and Warzone are intrinsically linked, with both games sharing one application. While Modern Warfare isn’t receiving any more content updates, Warzone is still going strong with the Season 4 Reloaded update going live on July 27.
Changes in Warzone often have a knock-on effect with Modern Warfare, with the major health increase being brought over on two separate occasions, and the Pacific Season 1 update reportedly breaking the game.
Now, after the Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded update, Modern Warfare players have reported that the Domination and Ground War game modes have disappeared entirely.
Reddit user LuizMW_ took to the Modern Warfare subreddit to let the community know that modes no longer appear on the main menu or quickplay filter, and players are furious.
“Good God how do they keep f**king up an almost 3 year old game they barely support,” asked SilentReavus in response to another post about the issue.
While several players mourned Ground War’s removal, players were especially shocked to see Domination was gone.
“Ground war doesn’t bother me. Taking away domination really makes me incredibly mad. I love playing domination,” commented one player. “Call of Duty is not call of duty without Domination, WTF,” continued another.
It appears Domination and Ground War games were causing crashes and other issues, with user slimcargos reporting that every time they tried to get into a Domination game “it would load the map and freeze.”
“I joined a Ground War match before the removal and a lot of people were leaving the game or getting kicked for inactivity,” chimed in the OP. They explained that later, there was a playlist update and the two modes were gone.
It sounds like the modes have been removed to fix the issues that arrived shortly after Season 4 Reloaded so they should be on their way back to the game soon.

How to fix Warzone & Modern Warfare error 5476
Here’s how you can fix the Warzone and Modern Warfare error 5476 which keeps players from joining the BR mode.
Warzone and Modern Warfare players are encountering the ‘dev error 5476’ which is preventing them from joining matches, and here’s how you can get around this problem.
It can be extremely frustrating to encounter error messages that interrupt your game, and Warzone Pacific players have been plagued by these throughout the game’s history, including error 47 and error code 48.
The ‘dev error 5476’ code is an issue that keeps players from enjoying Warzone and Modern Warfare. This has been an uptick in players experiencing this error after the arrival of the Season 4 Reloaded update.
Luckily, there are a few ways to fix this issue.
How to fix dev error 5476 in Warzone and Modern Warfare
The dev error 5476 code might pop up for many different reasons when playing Warzone or Modern Warfare. Players have reported this happening when they set their Calling Cards or Emblems to random.
Other times, this error code is the result of corrupted game files or a crossplay matchmaking issue. We’ll go over all the different workarounds that you can use to fix the dev error 5476 in both games.
Check for updates/Reset your console
Sometimes this error can be fixed by waiting for a new update. Your device should automatically notify you if there’s one available for download, but that’s only possible if your Internet connection is working.
Check your connection, and try resetting your Internet device if you suspect that it’s not working properly. You can also reset your gaming platform to see if it connects to your WiFi again.
Here’s how you can hard restart Xbox consoles:
- Hold down the power button until the Xbox completely shuts down
- Release the power button
- Disconnect the power cable
- Wait five minutes
- Plug the power cable back in
- Turn your Xbox back on
If you’re using a PlayStation, then this process is much easier:
- Hold down the power button for 5 seconds until the PlayStation completely shuts down
- Wait a few seconds
- Press and hold the power button until the PlayStation turns back on
Derandomize your calling card and emblem
One solution that has been successful in the past is to change your Calling card and Emblem so that they’re no longer set as “Randomized.”
Here’s what you need to do:
- Log into the game
- Head to the Barracks tab
- Check if your emblem is set to “Randomized,” then change it to “All Together Now” or any other category
- If your calling card is also set to “Randomized” then change that too
Once that’s done, head back to the lobby, and you’ll be able to join the game without seeing the error message.
Verify the Warzone and Modern Warfare game files
If the problem is being caused by missing or corrupted game data on your PC then you can attempt to verify the game files, and see if that fixes the problem.
Here’s how you can repair game files on the PC:
- Access the Blizzard battle.net app
- Click on the Warzone icon
- Select the gear icon and click “Scan and repair”
You’ll have to wait as the game files are scanned and verified. If you’re informed about any missing or corrupted game files then you’ll need to reinstall the game.
Reinstall Warzone and Modern Warfare
If the problem still persists then you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the game from the online store. This solution is the least appealing one since you’ll need to wait a long while as the game downloads again.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Uninstall the game
- Enter the online store
- Search for Warzone and Modern Warfare
- Once you get to the game page, select ‘Download’
Once the game has finished downloading, hop back into the multiplayer mode and see if it works properly. Hopefully, one of these solutions will work in getting rid of the error message.
